Network Antecedents of Traffic Safety and Delays in Transportation Networks
Projects undertaken by Satyam Mukherjee in collaboration with Tarun Jain (IIM Bangalore)
We study how the network structure and station capacity of a railway station impact delays in the Indian Railways Network. Leveraging rich real-time arrival and departure data and train routes from the National Train Enquiry System by Indian Railways, we construct daily large-scale networks of railway traffic flow with railway stations as the nodes and trips between two stations as an edge.

Political equality is the sine qua non of democracy. However, the neoliberal corporations undermine it by exclusively focusing on the shareholders. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been agued to be a powerful tool controlled by neoliberalism. The paper argues that the future of democracy is tied to the future of AI.

The emergence of ratings of Amazon’s reviews: From pooling to separating equilibrium

The presence of fake reviews forces even producers of quality products to buy such reviews, resulting in a pooling equilibrium. We show that with the advent of product review ratings by Fake Spot and others, a separating equilibrium emerges in which producers of high-quality products do not buy fake reviews.

The study examined the relationship between mindfulness and psychological wellbeing and hypothesised the mediating role of resilience and perceived. 1087 students participated in the study. Data were analysed through SmartPLS version 4. Results revealed that mindfulness was positively related to psychological wellbeing and resilience.

Winners and Losers of IPO Lotteries in India
The study with Professor Raghupathy suggest the change to a full lottery system has helped in ensuring that only genuine retail investors are applying for shares reserved for them in IPOs, as opposed to before where larger investors were taking advantage of loopholes to crowd that category.
