FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENTS

Wasn’t it just a few days ago that we heralded in the New Year, know it, Spring 2025 is nearly over! Everyone might not feel the you’re swimming neck deep in campus life all the time, that’s what Time passes us quickly, so does life and its moments Someone wise only live for a day” Now, that sounds like a sentence, but its thought, if you just pause and reflect on it a moment It doesn’t irresponsible or careless, because you live for just a day, but that Thi you ever get to live in

Life is long and eventful, and people live for decades, into old age, but the only life you can live, is in the present, today, this moment The past is memories, some good and others not so, but we should remind ourselves that we are not defined, or constrained by our past, if only we choose to put in the effort and attention to make today a day that we meet our commitments, attend to our responsibilities, and work upon ourselves

We know of great achievers only after they become famous Without exception, whatever their field, they have all dreamed big, worked at their dreams with passion, and faced more setbacks and failures than they have seen successes, but they have persevered Success is not possible without perseverance, and perseverance is not possible without pushing through failure, rejection, frustration and disappointment Perseverance takes commitment and courage You can only remain committed, and not give up, in the face of obstacles and challenges, if you deeply believe in the worth of what you are doing and the purpose you intend to serve. People give up at the first hurdle, not because they can’t go on, but because they lack the will, the belief and passion to struggle for what lies on the other side.

What are your values – beliefs you hold so strongly that they are “failure and setback proof”? An honest answer calls for introspection and integrity, but whatever they are, your values define you and will show up in all that you undertake, most starkly whenever things don’t go as you’d like. This is a time in your lives when you are crafting your future, a future of outcomes that will faithfully mirror the values you form in the only slice of life that anyone can live: Today. Whenever next you face adversity, be it in academics, in sport, in your relationships or personal life, remind yourself that the way you choose to respond, to persevere or give up, to take responsibility, or blame another, is forming the pattern for the life you are building yourself. Soon you will all head home to spend time with your family and enjoy a well earned summer break. Take the time to celebrate all that is going well, strengthen the bonds you cherish, but also to take lessons from whatever has not worked out as you would have liked. You can make things better one day at a time.

Happy Holidays!

“Successisnot possiblewithout perseverance, and perseveranceisnot possiblewithout pushingthrough failure, rejection, frustrationand disappointment”

Empowering Voices: Interviews by Gender Champions

In their interview with Ms. Brinda Adige, a Women’s Rights Activist, the Gender Champions had the privilege of engaging with a pioneering voice in the field of women’s and children’s rights. As the Founder and Director of Global Concerns India, Ms. Adige has spent decades addressing gender-based violence, human trafficking, and systemic injustice through grassroots action, legal support, and advocacy. Her experience in launching India’s first child protection helpline and training law enforcement in gender sensitivity reflects her commitment to not just reactive support but proactive change. She spoke candidly about the challenges of dismantling patriarchal norms and the need for sustained, community-driven efforts. What stood out most was her emphasis on empathy and the importance of amplifying survivors’ voices in all advocacy work. Through this conversation, it was learnt that activism is not just about large-scale reform but also about small, consistent actions that empower individuals and foster long-term social transformation.

A rapid-fire and “This or That” round added a lighter touch, revealing fun preferences and personal favourites—from cultural events to campaign styles. Having a chat with Aditi reminds students that leadership isn’t just about winning—it’s about purpose, presence, and paving the way for others.

Mr. Randeep Baruah (Deputy Director of Sports) applauded the exceptional efforts of each team on stage, recognizing the hard work, determination, and resilience that fueled their achievements throughout the season. Special shoutouts were given to the graduating batch of each sport for their contribution in all 4 years here.
