SWAIN
A student endeavouring creativity, Some ideas sane and mostly insane, Finding ways to make it possible and pushing boundaries of impossible, I believe I am architecture’s swain, Sleepless nights and sleepy days, We wear black but it’s more than the whites blacks and grays, My dreams are my work, And at the end the juror’s happy smirk, It says they have done it too, Remembering their days when they had no clue, Doing redos again and again, But I believe we are still architectures swain,
All the collages and sketches are interpretations and conceptuals for the projects.

HOUSE ON EDGE
An abode in the outskirts I Semester I
The house on edge is a 1st semester work which is a residence that explored the inital idea of designing. It is a residence that was made during the COVID pandemic, which is why it highlights the isolated living concept. The residence is made on a contoured site with water bodies and lush green trees in the site. The design was set to be made to cater to personal needs and was designed with routines of Quarantine in mind.

The concepts for the housing project started from few sketches, abstract models and few abstract drawings. The concepts outlines the major part of focus with perspective of design, such as nodes and their interection, cluster design as a naturally built space rather than just a simple cluster with use of combination of spaces that are closed, open and semi- open.

Individual spill out space caters to the needs of the residence as they use the ground as a very important part of the house.
The central space and courtyards act as nodes of interection and convert the random nodes in the site to e ective focal points.
The elemental staircase acts as a separatepart of the build space creating a circulation with no visual bound.

The creation of terraces compliment the spill out concept as the terrace become the ground for the houses on each level.
The projections of the pol houses and the balconies made re ect the context of the vernacular architecture opf ahmedabad.
Mid rise built structure is an apt solution to the vast population of the site as well as the context of the pol houses.

MEASURE DRAWING
Pol house- vernacular architecture I Semester 3
The measure drawing, was a related study programme where the learning was the use of space in an effective manner and also how the spaces created in the pol houses worked. The understanding was also about widening the perspective of community living and how different types of structure work in a dense fabric. The pol houses also taught the usage and manipulation of materials and techniques which help in the climatic conditions such as Ahmedabad’s, which is hot.

The project was done in the 10th Grade as part of a personal project, as I was in an International Baccalaureate Board.
The project was chosen from self interest in temples and its architecture. The elements studied in the project were from the Nagarshaili Temple architecture style which is mainly built in the west and north India. The intriguing features of temples and as a structure that one visits from the childhood, it was something that created curiosity to gain knowledge form its architecture.
