Presenting their findings at the United Nations elevates the experience, offering an unparalleled platform for student voices and leadership. It is a transformative opportunity that prepares students to lead with purpose and passion in high school and beyond.
In this signature program, seventh-grade students engage deeply with real-world issues through a cross-disciplinary project focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students select one of the 17 SDGs, conduct extensive scientific research, and develop a prototype solution to address their chosen challenge using the experimental design model. Various disciplines support this learning journey. In English, students craft persuasive speeches that present their findings and highlight the root causes of their issues. Theology classes provide the essential context needed for a deeper understanding of their topic’s global significance. In History classes, students gain a deeper understanding of the broader context in which historical events and decisions occurred, learning how these solutions and actions impacted society.
The project culminates with a visit to the United Nations, where students present their work in a formal setting and collaborate with Brunswick School students to further refine their ideas. Sacred Heart Greenwich is committed to raising social awareness and inspiring action. Our Campus Ministry & Service programs offer experiential learning opportunities designed to help Middle School students explore their faith while instilling courage, confidence, and civic responsibility. Through regular liturgies, chapel services, retreats, and daily prayer, our students grow in their personal and active faith in God.
Community Service & Service Learning
At Sacred Heart Greenwich, our goal is to cultivate compassionate, globally aware students who exemplify the Heart of a Sacred Heart Graduate. Middle School students are encouraged to participate in and support social justice and community service efforts with both local and global communities, guiding them to become responsible citizens and positively impact others’ lives. Embracing the spirit of the Goals and Criteria, service becomes a habit of the heart. Each year, the School follows monthly themes aligned with the Upper School, where students engage in learning and service activities.
Network Exchange
Students in 8th grade have the opportunity to participate in a transformative network exchange and engage with the global Sacred Heart network by visiting sister schools worldwide. With over 150 Sacred Heart schools in more than 40 countries, this reciprocal exchange not only enriches students’ educational experiences but also fosters social and cultural understanding for both the participant and the host community. Combining educational enrichment with cultural immersion, students develop a deeper appreciation for diversity while embodying the values of the Sacred Heart education.

Sacred Heart Greenwich is part of a worldwide Network of Sacred Heart schools in 41 countries (25 in North America) that seek to educate to the values that form the framework of a Sacred Heart education.
