Legacy Arts is a collaboration between small businesses whose mission is to foster the growth of culture and creativity in downtown Lima by showcasing and nurturing regional artists and entrepreneurs. They have 5 goals: - Retain arts and culture - Cultivate a creative economy - Showcase local talent - Build pride in the region - Change people’s perception Legacy Arts Ohio started as a grassroots effort to inspire local artists and mentor young entrepreneurs in Lima. The ideas came from a collective of small business owners who wanted to highlight what was already happening here: the concerts, bands recording original music, gaming nights with artist workshops, and successful businesses. 12 • DECEMBER 2022
The Legacy Arts Building on Main Street is an interactive space for creative types – but it is about more than fostering an incubator alone: this movement helps preserve our heritage while inspiring creativity that stays true to its roots.
