Students explore future choices Thirty-three entities, including businesses, colleges, career training programs, armed forces branches, government agencies, and other organizations, participated in Morrison High School’s third annual College and Career Fair on October 6, 2021. The event was designed to encourage students to explore careers across the 16 major career clusters. Morrison High School worked diligently this year to reach out to trades programs, including carpentry and pipefitting, to provide a range of options for students to consider. Among local firms that participated: ADM, CGH Medical Center, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, Timken Drives, Walmart Distribution Center No. 7024, and oth-

ers discussed opportunities in their fields with students. Morrison also welcomed the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and National Guard to this year’s event. Colleges and career training programs represented included Sauk Valley Community College, Highland Community College, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, Educators of Beauty College of Cosmetology, Morrison Tech, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) also provided information to students about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) during the event.
