Positivity + Respect + Inspiration + Determination + Excellence = PRIDE

Clipper pride is on display in the mural in the new area of the school.

Academics

After a year like last year, it’s nice to see some normalcy returning to our building. Students are working together, learning together, teaching each other. This year, engineering technologies and astronomy have been added to the course selections. Students are able to create programs to use the new GlowForge machine. They are making trinkets for the annual Amboy Christmas Walk. Our Ag Construction class has been busy making picnic tables for the football field and building the sets for our fall play.

Amboy High School has been involved with the Education Pathway Grant through the ROE, which sets criteria to help current students decide if they would like to become teachers.

Daily homeroom classes include lessons to help students find out who they are and what type of person they want to be. Many students enjoyed decorating their hallways for Homecoming week and putting up posters and signs throughout the building with their personal strengths or positive quotes. Every day, students are encouraged to pursue Clipper P.R.I.D.E., which includes having a Positive mindset, giving and accepting Respect, being Inspired to follow dreams, being Determined to work hard, and pursuing Excellence daily!

New Construction

The last couple of years have been filled with construction. The addition of the junior high to the high school has added new opportunities for all students in grades 5-12.

We have been busy getting our new areas up and running, with some areas taking longer than others to complete. Our new gym and new high school offices along with our new common area are starting to look and feel a little more like home.
