The READY SET DANCE Regional award will be announced at READY SET DANCE Conference in Sydney in September. I would like to thanks our READY SET DANCE TEAM, Hannah, Annaleise, Julia, Jo & Alyce for your constant dedication to the program and ensuring Bendigo preschoolers are delivered Australia’s BEST preschool program every week and grow in the 3 C’s Coordination, Confidence & Creativity. DanceStep

We are very excited to be a registered affiliate studio and member of the DanceStep program. Offered in partnership with studio teachers, DanceStep empowers students to take care of others and guides them to be leaders and role models. The program covers assistant teaching skills such as behaviour management, different learning needs and styles, Safe Dance Principles and Anatomy to name just a few. These concepts are broken down to be taught in a sequential and age appropriate way to children from ten or eleven years of age. Whether students are considering a career in dance teaching or otherwise, the DanceStep program is a great preparation for many aspects of life.

DanceStep, a 4 level Student Teacher Education Program, builds on this philosophy and provides a progressive and formalised process including both practical and theoretical components.

Participants are mentored by Sharon Saunders and learn from weekly videos from DanceStep founder Jane Grech through Movitae. Contact Sharon for details. Minimum age 10 years.

I currently learn Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz.I love dance teaching because I like to teach what I have been taught and working with younger people than me.

We had a beautiful exam day yesterday. ATOD Examiner, Mrs. Butler made our students so comfortable and happy in their exams. We are blessed to be members of such a progressive organisation which is filled with beautiful, kind people and offers an internationally recognised system of training and qualifications. Thankyou to our teachers for preparing students so well and making us so proud!!!! Thanks to parents for giving your child this opportunity and to students for working hard and enjoying their day!

Our preschoolers delighted the audience with a mid year concert at JB Osborne Theatre! This was our first ever preschool concert, no costumes or rehearsals, just lots of smiles, joy & laughter! Our superstars all received a medal at the end of the performance which were kindly donated by AT Builders. We would like to thank everyone who attended and a massive thanks to our Teachers, Senior students & DanceStep helpers who looked after preschoolers backstage. Participation as always is optional. Next up, Ulumbarra Theatre! We already have a large contingent of preschoolers performing! Concert details will distributed in the coming month.

Ready Set Dance is a one hour combo class that includes jazz, tap, hip hop, singing, music and a whole lot of FUN for girls and boys.

Ready Set Ballet is a 30 minute magical ballet experience for 2- 5 year olds. Ready Set Dance was recently awarded the Best National Activity for Preschoolers at The What’s On for Kids Awards!

The program focuses on teaching children the 3 C’s. Coordination, Confidence & Creativity.

MATILDA Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to play the role of Matilda in the Senior School production of Matilda The Musical at Girton Grammar School.It was the most amazing experience! Auditions were held in the first 4-5 weeks of term 1, so we had to be organised. It was pretty nerve wracking, going through the audition process, but the teachers were so supportive. I couldn't believe it when I was told I had won the part! I was so excited!We launched straight into rehearsals and I learnt so much about blocking and rehearsal techniques for the show. We had about four months to learn all the songs and choreography for the whole show. It was pretty intense, with rehearsals during lunch times and after school from Monday to Thursday, sometimes Friday and even all day on some weekends. We even had special Russian lessons for specific scenes!But it was wonderful to be surrounded by such a super-talented cast and crew and a totally different experience to work with a live orchestra. I have made some wonderful friends through the production and it really does feel like we are all part of one big family.We got to meet James Millar, who played Miss Trunchbull in the Sydney and Melbourne professional productions. He came to opening night and stayed to sign my program and have a photo taken with us all backstage after the show. He had some really good advice for us all too. He told us that having a dancing background was so important when it comes to auditioning and then preparing for a musical theatre production like this. It's not enough to just sing and act, you need to do dancing as well and keep up with your dancing lessons all the way through your career if you want to be successful.So I'm very grateful to all the teachers and Sharon for all the dance lessons and performance opportunities they have provided for me at Sharon Saunders Dancers.

FACEBOOK COMMENTS AUGUST 2019 If I could bottle Hannah up in a jar & pass her on to every single person who wants to dance... & have them open up the jar & have Hannah.... wow! That would be the best gift!

Annaleise is awesome! The time and effort she puts into class for our kids is amazing.. she is 100% the reason Edie has gained so much confidence and participates in every aspect of the class now; not to mention the dedication to travel from Melbourne at that time of morning
