Children are the leaders of tomorrow. Present them with the opportunity to feel self-reliant and confident in any social situation by taking interactive lessons taught by a certified etiquette consultant. Our workshop is designed to empower them with life skills that propel them towards personal and professional success. These skills will help them succeed at school, socially, and later, professionally and can create an appealing differentiator that sets them apart. Our lessons aim to instill social consideration and mutual respect as we believe that when children are taught these basic social skills in their early years, they tend to become more socially responsible as they grow up. To survive the rising social pressure, children must be trained in a way to feel confident and comfortable around people and to find their place in the world. Topics Include: The importance of greeting others, rules of introduction, the handshake, eye contact, and the power of a smile, sportsmanship etiquette, hygiene and appearance, self-respect and respect for others, behaving appropriately at other people’s homes, making appropriate conversation, proper telephone etiquette, writing thank you notes, and other modern manners. Restaurant Ready! For Teens Valentines Edition Grades: 8-12 Location: Sharon Community Center Valentine’s Day does not need to be too extravagant; it just needs to be authentic and kindly expressed. Though proper table manners should be used all year around, they should especially be in the forefront on Valentine’s Day. For teens to feel comfortable when dining with someone other than their family, like dinner with a special someone or in a more formal setting, they need to keep their restaurant etiquette on point. It’s the best way to make sure that they make a positive impression, especially when a parent is not there to correct them. Manners take skill and practice and it’s never too early to start learning them. Topics Include: Invitations and how to rsvp, waiting for a table, how to be seated, speaking to servers, menu & ordering food, understanding the place setting and silverware, trying new foods, sharing food, how to handle food allergies, proper conversations at the table, using please and thank you, complimenting the chef and waitstaff. Other restaurant manners: cell phone and retainer etiquette, chewing gum, belching, rude noises, negative comments, handling spills, and more. Instructed by: New England School of Protocol Min/Max: 6/12 (1 class)

Discipline: A positive approach will be used when determining disciplinary action. The Sharon Recreation Department reserves the right to dismiss a participant. Student Parking Passes

Starting August 17th, you can purchase school year 2021-2022 student parking passes for $125 each. Fee will be reduced to $75 if purchased after February 15th (or when weather conditions allow). These passes allow students to park in the Veteran’s Memorial Park Beach parking lot during the 2021-2022 school year. Passes will be valid from August 28th until the end of school year. Availability of the parking lot at the end of the calendar year is based on weather conditions. The parking lot gates may be closed if weather conditions render parking in the lot too difficult, as the lot is not plowed. Each pass will list one vehicle. Please visit our website at https://sharonbeach.cityhallsystems.com/ to purchase your season pass.
