SHARE Omaha helps nonprofits fulfill their missions by raising support and service, yearround Our platform focuses on connecting givers and supporters to community-wide causes We encourage you to leverage the power of your SHARE Omaha nonprofit profile throughout the year, not just during Giving Tuesday. The most successful SHARE Omaha members are regularly updating and promoting their profiles to recruit new donors, volunteers and supporters.
#GivingTuesday402 is the local expression of the global Giving Tuesday in Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington Counties in Nebraska This is the greater Omaha metro's biggest local giving day of the year! This year, Giving Tuesday is December 3, 2024
Effective September 2024, In lieu of launching a paid nonprofit membership model or charging a percentage fee for donations, SHARE Omaha released a new set of engagement expectations for nonprofit members.
The goal of the new Memorandum of Expectations (MOE) is to express SHARE Omaha's commitment to supporting its nonprofit members year-round and to receive your commitment to member engagement expectations. Engaged members connect with more donors and volunteers!
SHARE Omaha is committed to:
In honor of your nonprofit’s agreement to our new MOE, SHARE Omaha will continue to offer free nonprofit membership through 2025, plus access to our new goal thermometers feature when this technology enhancement is launched.
Offering all SHARE Omaha nonprofit partners profile access and the ability to accept donations via Stripe, add a Give Shop wish list, add events, and post volunteer opportunities.
Sustaining your team’s work by building your nonprofit network, connecting businesses to your philanthropic opportunities, spotlighting your urgent needs, and promoting giving in our community.
Providing your nonprofit with a lead source for new volunteers and donors, building your stranger-to-supporter pipeline
Helping you connect to potential board and advisory committee members for your nonprofit.
Incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in its offering.
Providing resources and tools to help elevate your year-round, Do Good Days, and Giving Tuesday campaigns, and connect information on corporate giving pillars.
Remaining free to nonprofit members meeting expectations through 2025
Encouraging continuous feedback and being available to listen and provide assistance.
SHARE Omaha asks each nonprofit member to commit to:
Updating their SHARE Omaha profiles monthly
Maintaining at least two means of engagement on their SHARE Omaha profile. One of the engagement options must be donations via a Stripe account.
Subscribing, sharing, and reading the weekly Nonprofit Member Newsletter, sent via email on Thursdays Please email Candice at Candice@SHAREomaha org to be added to the list.
Taking advantage of SHARE Omaha’s community-wide year-round platform, tools and special campaigns
Promoting your profile and include your SHARE Omaha donation link in your #GivingTuesday402 marketing
Your nonprofit organization being located in Nebraska and serves Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington counties as identified on your SHARE Omaha profile via the geographic filter. If your nonprofit is located in Pottawattamie, Harrison or Mills counties in Iowa, to be a SHARE Omaha member, greater than 50% of the individuals you serve must reside in Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders, or Washington counties in Nebraska.
Maintaining a working website
Actively and promptly sharing feedback with SHARE Omaha for campaign results and survey responses
In September 2024, SHARE Omaha is launching a new profile enhancement: goal thermometers.
SHARE Omaha nonprofit member organizations who agree to SHARE Omaha’s new Memorandum of Expectations (MOE) will receive this profile enhancement at no charge to recruit more volunteers and raise more dollars to further your mission.
Goal thermometers can be used year-round to promote your progress for fundraising for specific projects and updates for number of volunteers you’ve recruited toward the number you need.
Goal thermometers will make giving contagious and encourage SHARE Omaha users to contribute toward your success.
Research shows that nonprofits who set a goal for Giving Tuesday are more successful than their counterparts!
Be sure to register for our profile enhancement training to learn how to make the best use of goal thermometers to improve results for your organization.
You may have noted that SHARE Omaha’s new Memorandum of Expectations (MOE) asks that your organization share your specific SHARE Omaha donate link as a part of your Giving Tuesday marketing, rather than your other donate links.
Why is this important, you ask? The goal is to achieve the biggest outpouring of generosity possible for our community!
When nonprofits jointly promote SHAREomaha.org’s collective giving space for Giving Tuesday, results will increase for all nonprofits!
Research shows that communities with a Giving Tuesday organizer and collective giving space raise 1.8x more on Giving Tuesday. In fact, SHARE Omaha’s Giving Tuesday donors give to an average of 2.3 nonprofits.
SHAREomaha org encourages givers to increase their giving and give to additional nonprofits. Your collaborative act of promoting your SHARE Omaha donate link in your Giving Tuesday marketing will benefit the entire Omaha metro nonprofit sector, as well as your organization.
Instead of a single nonprofit trying to bring new donors to the table, a joint effort of all of our SHARE Omaha nonprofits to promote your SHARE Omaha donate link will rise the tide of donations to lift all the fundraising boats.
Thank you for promoting your SHARE Omaha donate link with your Giving Tuesday marketing!
Reminder, SHARE Omaha does not charge a percentage fee for donations or a registration fee for Giving Tuesday. Typical giving day fees from similar community organizers across the country range from 2%-8% and/or nonprofit registration fees of $100-$500.
