The facade of the building is a metaphor of the waves which depicted using aluminum blades.

The aluminum blades of the facade are getting closer as it goes to the lowest floor, so that the light that enters is getting less and less to describe the atmosphere of the sea that getting deeper and darker.

HIERARCHY One of the circular mass in the main building which contain the main aquarium is the tallest building and the lowest is the lobby mass to create a scale that gives the impression of receiving visitors

ORIENTATION Based on the sun orientation, access, and view, the building tends to have a main orientation to the northwest (facing the Suramadu Bridge).

ACCESS AND CIRCULATION

In this zone there are biota that have a habitat at a depth of 200 meters of the sea. This zone is dominated by a wall aquarium with dim lighting.

The Mesopalagic main aquarium is continuous from the 1st to the 4th floor that consists of marine biota whose habitat is at a depth of 200 to 1000 meters.

The design area is in the coastal area of ​ Surabaya Beach which adjacent to Madura with a site area 5843m2

The building divided based on zoning which are main and supporting mass (commercial and lobby)

The main mass consists of 2 circulars which are for up and down circulation

Recreational circulation starts from the 1st floor using a ramp with a digital gallery that goes directly to the top floor (4th floor) which is rainforest area/ 4th floor Mezzanine (View Deck).

MAIN MASS

The circulation then continues to the aquarium area with aquarium zoning based on the hierarchy of sea depths to create the impression as if diving into the sea.

Street vendors whose income based on a daily basis certainly affected, this creates a dilemma for street vendors between selling during a pandemic or self-quarantine. Therefore, it is necessary to design a facility that can accommodate street vendors properly, aesthetically, comfortably, and physically safe especially during this pandemic era by implementing health protocols standard and adaptation.

MARKET TARGET

During the pandemic, social restrictions were imposed so that activities for consuming meal in public areas were limited both in terms of quantity and time. So, the food hub design focuses on types of food in the form of snacks, drinks, and desserts because it is fast to make and consume, so there is no potential to create a crowd and are also efficient for drive thru facilities.

The target market for food outlets at the food hub design is the the millennials generation and gen z who usually visit the area around the site for culinary tourism because this generation tend to like hang out outside and like to explore.

This type of meal was also chosen because the location of the site is close to the Cihapit Market which is famous for its traditional snacks street vendors', therefore the food hub design can play a role in tidying up the street vendors at that location.

Whereas the target market for the urban farming product are restaurants and markets, because around the site is dominated by restaurants and it located near The Cihapit Market.

OPTIMAL OPENING The design is a semi-open building, especially in public areas so that natural sunlight and air can enter the building. With this optimal natural lighting and good air circulation, it can help to prevent the Covid-19 virus.

LESEHAN The dining area have a "lesehan" concept with radial orientation. This concept applied so that the visitors does not facing each other because one of the transmission media of the virus is through droplets.

The design layout applies an open plan arrangement so that the space feels wider on a small area and can save energy use because air circulation and lighting can be evenly distributed throughout the space. The application of the open plan concept is supported by a split level between space modules to emphasize space boundaries, this is reflected in the terraced mass form. Stack House is also designed to adapt the character of the millennial generation as the target user who has 3 main personality characters, which are creative, connected, and confidence. The design of the Stack House is also influenced by the tropical climate of Indonesia by manage comfort through passive designs.

Parlor/ Guest Area The terrace area outside consists of an amphitheater staircase to receive guests from outside so guests don't need to enter the house to prevent physical contact with other users in the house.

Laundry This room classified in the non-sterile area because it contain used clothes that potentially contaminated by the virus. The dirty clothes are stored, washed, and dried on the ground floor.

1ST AND 2ND FLOOR - STERILE The 1st and 2nd floors are sterile zones, it is consists of a bedroom, workspace, and family room.

UNITY WITH NATURE There is a seating area on the ground floor which is designed as a work area, dining, or relaxing area, in this area there is a pond and a garden so that it can create user interaction with nature that can reduce stress hormones.

There are also balconies on the 1st and 2nd floors which can be use as areas to relax and see the view while sunbathing.

ECONOMY Most of the people's incomes during the pandemic are low and the users of the design are for the lowincome communities, therefore other sources of income are needed so the users can survive. The income source must be sustainable and have a large target market, so the house is designed with a hydroponic and aquaponic area to plant some vegetables or fruits in the balconies, inner court, and terrace.

Lockdowns are held to reduce contact between people but it has the potential to make many people hoard food that causing the availability of some foods to decrease and prices rising. So, the house is designed with an area that can produce its own food.

MAINTAIN IMMUNE There are balconies on the 1st and 2nd floors as well as a garden and terrace seating area as a place for users to be exposed to direct sunlight because it can eradicate bacteria.

CROSS VENTILATION There is an open area/ ventilation for cross ventilation, both horizontally from 2 sides of the building and vertically through voids.

NATURAL LIGHTING In the middle of the building there is a void and aperture using a glass block so that natural lighting can enter and reflected vertically and horizontally. In each room there are also openings so each rooms can get natural lighting that can save energy and minimize the growth of bacteria inside.

NEW LANDMARK The pedestrian bridge is designed with a contrasting form from the surrounding buildings to create a hierarchy as the embodiment of the new icon.

PROVIDE A RECREATION AREA FOR THE COMMUNITY In the design, it is planned an activity area for community recreation that also can be a magnet for visitor by providing a view deck area and light attraction at night.

BACKGROUND The site is located at Fatmawati which is a street that tends to be crowded because it connects several areas, this area also has the potential to become a new Central Business District due to the rapid growth of office buildings.

The development of this area is not supported by good connectivity between roads and buildings, so it is important to create a good connection to provide an easy access and pedestrians friendly area that is also able to provide a value to the Fatmawati area.

PERUMUSAN MASALAH Terdapat isu kontekstualitas atribut bangunan antara bangunan non-cagar budaya terhadap bangunan cagar budaya.

Pada era kolonial Belanda terdapat rencana pembangunan ekspansi Bandung Utara (Uitbreidingsplan Noord Bandoeng) dengan konsep garden city yang dilatarbelakangi oleh bertambahnya kebutuhan akibat meningkatnya jumlah penduduk.

Seberapa besar faktor atribut bangunan dalam berperan menentukan tingkat kontekstualitas bangunan non-cagar budaya terhadap bangunan cagar budaya pada Jalan L.L.R.E.Martadinata?

TUJUAN PENELITIAN SEJARAH KAWASAN JALAN L.L.R.E.MARTADINATA Jalan L.L.RE. Martadinata termasuk ke dalam kawasan ekspansi Bandung Utara fase “Europeesche Zakenwijk” dan pada awalnya direncanakan sebagai area hijau dengan adanya plein (lapangan hijau). Kemudian pada tahun 1931, mulai didirikan bangunan hunian mewah dan menjadi tempat aktivitas kelompok elit Eropa. Latar belakang historis ini membuat koridor ini ditetapkan sebagai salah satu kawasan cagar budaya di Kota Bandung.

Untuk mendeskripsikan faktor yang berperan menyebabkan suatu atribut memiliki kontekstualitas yang tinggi beserta potensi ancamannya di masa depan, juga untuk mendeskripsikan faktor yang menyebabkan suatu atribut memiliki kontekstualitas yang rendah untuk kemudian diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bangunan baru guna mempertahankan nilai Koridor Jalan L.L.R.E.Martadinata sebagai kawasan cagar budaya.

Berdasarkan peraturan daerah, Jalan L.L.RE. Martadinata sebagai kawasan cagar budaya perlu mempertahankan karakter, baik dari segi intensitas, tata bangunan, fasad, dan lain sebagainya. Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu koridor ini mengalami perkembangan pesat yang memicu terjadinya pergeseran fungsi kawasan menjadi didominasi oleh fungsi komersial. Pergeseran fungsi menimbulkan isu kontekstualitas antara atribut bangunan non-cagar budaya yang didominasi bangunan baru dengan bangunan cagar budaya sebagai bangunan lama yang memiliki nilai historis.

METODE PEMBAHASAN

Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penerapan metode diaplikasikan dengan menganalisis dan mengevaluasi objek berdasarkan teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian yang kemudian dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dari data kualitatif, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif kemudian dikonversikan menjadi data numerik.

PERUMUSAN MASALAH Terdapat isu kontekstualitas atribut bangunan antara bangunan non-cagar budaya terhadap bangunan cagar budaya.

PERTANYAAN PENELITIAN

Pada era kolonial Belanda terdapat rencana pembangunan ekspansi Bandung Utara (Uitbreidingsplan Noord Bandoeng) dengan konsep garden city yang dilatarbelakangi oleh bertambahnya kebutuhan akibat meningkatnya jumlah penduduk.

Seberapa besar faktor atribut bangunan dalam berperan menentukan tingkat kontekstualitas bangunan non-cagar budaya terhadap bangunan cagar budaya pada Jalan L.L.R.E.Martadinata?

TUJUAN PENELITIAN SEJARAH KAWASAN JALAN L.L.R.E.MARTADINATA Jalan L.L.RE. Martadinata termasuk ke dalam kawasan ekspansi Bandung Utara fase “Europeesche Zakenwijk” dan pada awalnya direncanakan sebagai area hijau dengan adanya plein (lapangan hijau). Kemudian pada tahun 1931, mulai didirikan bangunan hunian mewah dan menjadi tempat aktivitas kelompok elit Eropa. Latar belakang historis ini membuat koridor ini ditetapkan sebagai salah satu kawasan cagar budaya di Kota Bandung.

Untuk mendeskripsikan faktor yang berperan menyebabkan suatu atribut memiliki kontekstualitas yang tinggi beserta potensi ancamannya di masa depan, juga untuk mendeskripsikan faktor yang menyebabkan suatu atribut memiliki kontekstualitas yang rendah untuk kemudian diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bangunan baru guna mempertahankan nilai Koridor Jalan L.L.R.E.Martadinata sebagai kawasan cagar budaya.

KONTEKSTUAL

Berdasarkan peraturan daerah, Jalan L.L.RE. Martadinata sebagai kawasan cagar budaya perlu mempertahankan karakter, baik dari segi intensitas, tata bangunan, fasad, dan lain sebagainya. Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu koridor ini mengalami perkembangan pesat yang memicu terjadinya pergeseran fungsi kawasan menjadi didominasi oleh fungsi komersial. Pergeseran fungsi menimbulkan isu kontekstualitas antara atribut bangunan non-cagar budaya yang didominasi bangunan baru dengan bangunan cagar budaya sebagai bangunan lama yang memiliki nilai historis.

METODE PEMBAHASAN

Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penerapan metode diaplikasikan dengan menganalisis dan mengevaluasi objek berdasarkan teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian yang kemudian dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dari data kualitatif, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif kemudian dikonversikan menjadi data numerik.
