The US House of Representatives voted on July 11 to overturn Donald Trump’s ban on Transgender people serving in the military.
The vote was 242 to 187, with 10 Republicans joining Democrats to pass the measure. Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) introduced the reversal as an amendment to

by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer Britain’s parliament voted on July 9 to extend marriage equality to Northern Ireland. The count was a landslide 383 to 73, with 194 members absent or abstaining.
The marriage bill was introduced by a Labour member, Conor McGinn, and allowed to proceed as a “free vote” – in other words, one where the members were not bound to vote their party’s line.
