Believe it or not, there’s more to France than Paris. An hour and twenty minutes away by plane is one of the most reputable wine regions in the entire world, an area carpeted by vineyards, wineries, and timeless country estates. The scenery changes further as you go south – you come across seaside villages, sandy beaches, and even a mountainous terrain that borders another country. If you can afford the splurge, the new Air France Salon Lounge in Terminal 2E is spacious, chic, and stocked with premiere champagne, beer, and snacks. DAYS 1 & 2: BORDEAUX Commence your visit in Bordeaux, the capital of the Aquitaine region and a thriving cultural hub with outdoor art installations, world-class ballet productions, live music performances, and outstanding museums. The city of about 240,000 residents is compact and easy to navigate, with a great light-rail system making it even easier. An afternoon stroll through town provides lots see bordeaux page 19
