Barbra Streisand takes center stage, but she’s not busting out “The Way We Were.” Not today, anyway. The legend is promoting her first major film in 16 years at the Four Seasons Los Angeles. Her hair is perfectly coiffed and she’s dressed in her usual all-black attire with the off-the-shoulder look going on. “Hello, Gorgeous,” indeed! Not long into the interview, a makeup artist waiting in the

wings pats down any hint of forehead sweat. You don’t let a legend perspire, and Barbra Streisand is an American treasure: a consummate singer with a timeless mezzo-soprano; an Emmy, Oscar, and Grammy award-winner; and the woman who stole hearts in the 1976 remake of A Star Is Born. And, to us, a Gay icon. What a year it’s been for Macklemore! The Seattle hiphop artist released his first fulllength recording, The Heist (with his usual collaborator, Ryan Lewis), and it landed atop the iTunes albums chart and at No. 2 on Billboard’s album chart in

its first week. He sold out concerts throughout the country, including at WaMu Theater here in Seattle, the University of Oregon’s McDonald Theatre, and an upcoming gig at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. Plus, the pro-Gay marriage single “Same Love” earned him a guest spot on
