It’s been a long, long road for Erasure – and it’s not ending anytime soon. The British dance-pop duo of Andy Bell (openly Gay, partnered) and Vince Clarke (straight, married) have been professionally recording music for nearly 30 years since launching their career back in 1985 with the single “Who Needs Love Like That.” Bigger hits, such as “Oh L’Amour,” “Sometimes,” “Chains of Love,”
and “Love to Hate You,” followed soon thereafter. Erasure releases their first full-length holiday-themed album, Snow Globe, on November 11, just in time for everyone to listen to as they prepare for the year-end festivities. I got a hold of Bell by phone on Halloween night as he was preparing to go party-hopping in London, and here’s what we chatted about inside The Music Lounge.

That hilarious, fabulous Margaret Cho is coming back to Seattle for another night of unstoppable, unfiltered, and unabashed laughs. The multi-faceted performer is towing her wellreviewed production “Mother” to Seattle next week, a show that was introduced to a roomful of
fans at Tulalip Resort Casino earlier this year. The concert, which has already toured Australia and parts of North America and will soon expand to Europe, is the latest project from this comedienneactress. For tickets to her Moore Theatre performance with guest opener Jim Short, go to www. stgpresents.org. By phone while running errands in Los Angeles, here’s what Margaret Cho had to say to Seattle Gay News. see cho page 7
by Sara Michelle Fetters SGN A&E Writer DALLAS BUYERS CLUB Now showing Texas electrician Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) has been given 30 days to live. Outspokenly homophobic, an unapologetic lothario to the nth degree, he’s just been diagnosed with having full-blown AIDS and, considering it’s 1985, that’s a virtually certain death sentence. see dallas page 9
