CARRIE: THE MUSICAL BALAGAN THEATRE @ THE MOORE THEATRE October 11 – 26 Balagan Theatre continues its new season of all musical theater productions with Carrie: The Musical. This particular musical has a quixotic history, starting with it being ranked as one of the biggest financial disasters on Broadway, closing after five performances (in 1988) when the financial backers pulled out all their money. But a number of people continued to believe that it
had value. Balagan is doing the updated version that has begun making its way around the country in the last year and a half. Director Louis Hobson has chosen a trio of acclaimed actresses for the three main roles. Young Carrie is being played by talented local teen Keaton Whittaker, who has already debuted on Broadway when she played the young girl in A Little Night Music. Kendra Kassebaum, who to our delight recently transplanted herself to Seattle and just finished working on Secondhand Lions, a major new musical at the

And the wickedly talented ladies of “Queens of the Brunch” at Julia’s on Broadway certainly haven’t been getting any rest lately. These divas are serving it up fast and fierce every Sunday
and what a spectacle it is. First of all, bring your appetite when you come. The food was delicious and they serve it in ample portions.
