by MK Scott SGN Contributing Writer Olivia Newton-John has been busy in the last few years with her Vegas Residency at the Flamingo, three albums and a new one on the way, and in her free time she devotes the proceeds and countless hours to her Cancer Wellness charities. Now she is
on tour and will hit Seattle’s Snoqualmie Casino next Thursday, August 25th. After a little phone tag, we finally chatted by phone and she has a lot to be proud of after 50 years of entertainment: MK Scott: Olivia, thanks for joining us! First, I wanted to congratulate you on your 50th year in show business.

This October marks Paul Caldwell’s very first concert as the new artistic director for Seattle Men’s Chorus (SMC) and Seattle Women’s Chorus (SWC). SWC kicks off the 2016-2017 season with “Unveiled” a five-performance run, from October 21-29, inside Capitol Hill’s historic Saint Mark’s

by Myriam Gordon SGN A&E Writer 2016 FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS VILLAGE THEATRE August 12-14 Musicals are one of the forms of theatrical presentations that take just about the
longest to get on their “feet” since they are often the most collaborative, with the most fingers in the pie, and the most complicated, with music, dance and story intermingling. So, in order to support them from an idea to a fully complete stageready vehicle, a system of presentation opportunities has developed around the country to propel them forward, often one see NEW MUSICALS page 5

it to his ex-wife and the children, the fact a sizeable oil field has been discovered on the property certain to guarantee their futures in ways nothing else would have. Problem is, the bank holding the mortgage on the property had pulled a devious job on their ailing parent, and if the loan isn’t paid off in the coming weeks they get to seize the property, as well as the liquid gold hidden underneath the dirt, all for themselves.
