LGBT older adults more vulnerable to loneliness, new survey finds

LGBT seniors have some of the highest rates of loneliness among older adults, according to a recent survey by AARP Foundation, “Loneliness and Social Connections: A National Survey of Adults 45 and Older.”
For those who identify as LGBT, the loneliness gap is 14 percentage points higher (49%) than for non-LGBT individuals (35%). [The AARP Foundation survey can be found
