POLICE DEDICATE 100 COPS TO BLM PROTESTS Gay protest streamer arrested outside East Precinct
by Renee Raketty SGN Staff Writer Seattle’s Capitol Hill once again became the location of more protests this past week as members of the Black Lives Matter movement responded to developments in the news such as the release of Derek Chauvin, the Minneapolis police officer seen kneeling on the neck of George Floyd before his death, on Wednesday and news of another police involved shooting death of Jonathan Price in Wolfe, Texas, which resulted in a protest on Monday.

by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer State Sen. Jamie Pedersen (D-43), chair of the Senate Law and Justice Committee, will introduce a bill to beef up police accountability for police by making it easier to decertify
officers who violate standards of conduct. “It is important that when we have officers who have abused the public trust that we have an efficient mechanism to quickly eliminate their ability to have a taxpayerfunded badge and gun,” Pedersen said.

by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer The US Supreme Court will allow a lawsuit against Kim Davis to go forward, the high court said in an October 5 decision. Davis is the former Rowan, Kentucky,
county clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to Gay couples that lawfully applied for them after the high court’s Obergefell decision legalizing same-sex marriage. Davis claimed that her First Amendment free exercise of religion rights
