by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer The federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a waiver allowing a Christian adoption agency in South Carolina to reject foster parent applicants on a religious basis.
The waiver, issued January 23, came in response to a request by South Carolina’s Republican governor, Henry McMasters. Federal law prohibits states from licensing service providers that discriminate on the basis of religion but also allows

WASHINGTON, DC [January 22, 2019] – The U.S. Supreme Court today denied petitions from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) asking that the Court review preliminary federal district court rulings that have kept the Trump administration from implementing its discriminatory plan to prevent transgender people from serving

couple at CenturyLink field during a Seattle Seahawks game was upgraded to a hate crime last week. When Harp faced the judge at his arraignment, his bail was raised to $75,000.
