by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer Seattle’s progressive Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-7) led the pack coming out of the state’s August 4 primary election. Jayapal is winning more than 80% of the votes in
the congressional district she’s represented since 2017. In the November election, she will almost certainly crush Republican Craig Keller, who won a bit more than 8% of the primary votes.

SEATTLE (August 1, 2020) – The Seattle Public Library’s Central Library, at 1000 Fourth Ave. will begin offering curbside pickup of books and materials for patrons with holds at the downtown location beginning this week. More locations will be added soon.

LOS ANGELES (July 31, 2020) – A new report by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law finds that millions of LGBT people could gain additional non-discrimination protections if courts interpret state laws consistent with the Supreme Court’s ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County.
In Bostock, the Court held that employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Courts have
