by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer A Seattle City Council committee unanimously passed a measure that would ban conversion therapy for minors and sent it on to the full council in a July 26 hearing. Labeled Resolution 118746, the measure
was written by Councilmember Lorena Gonzalez. Once passed by the full council, the resolution would create civil penalties for practicing conversion therapy on minors within Seattle city limits. It would be enforced by the City’s Office see CONVERSION page 20

by Shaun Knittel SGN Associate Editor The Navy is set to name a ship after the Gay rights icon and San Francisco politician Harvey Milk, according to a congressional notification sent out July 14.

The notification, signed by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, says he will name a planned Military Sealift Command fleet oiler USNS Harvey Milk (T-AO-206). The ship would be the second of the John Lewis–class oilers being built by General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, Calif. see HARVEY MILK page 20
