SEATTLE (May 5, 2020) – Gov. Inslee has led our state during the COVID-19 crisis by relying on science and data to make decisions. Yesterday, he signed the extension of the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order until
May 31, and in recent days, he has outlined a phased approach to reopening – both are critical to saving lives and preventing an exponential resurgence of the COVID-19.

HRC endorses Joe Biden

by Mike Andrew SGN Staff Writer The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has endorsed Joe Biden for president of the United States. The not-unexpected move was formalized in a May 6 press release and a video announcement by the group’s president, Alphonso David.
“The HRC’s Board of Directors, comprised of 26 community leaders from across the nation, unanimously and enthusiastically voted to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden for president of the United States. Murray on Trump response: “failed and continues to fail”

WASHINGTON, DC (May 7, 2020) – Today, US Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, delivered opening remarks at a HELP Committee hearing on the COVID19 crisis and the need to improve testing. In her remarks, Sen. Murray sharply criticized the Trump administration for its handling of the crisis over the last few months.

During that hearing I expressed my intense frustration at the administration’s lack of preparedness, its failure to ramp up testing, the White House’s constant contradictions of public health experts’ guidance, and more.
