On May 31, at 11 a.m. the Seattle LGBT Commission and the Seattle Office for Civil Rights hosted the third annual Seattle Pride Raise the Flag Ceremony at City Hall. The event has become known as the kickoff to LGBTQ Pride Month in Seattle. The proclamation was read by openly Gay Seattle Mayor Ed Murray. The band

Then members of the community joined the mayor at the flagpole to hoist the LGBTQ Pride Flag.
