Interactive, collaborative exhibit and series of programs that examine and celebrate the long, quiet history of LGBTQ+ people on Vashon-Maury Island, which has the largest per-capita LGBTQ population in Washington State. What makes a “home” becomes increasingly convoluted post-adolescence, particularly for Queer folx: if you’re Queer, “homemaking” often means forging a family from scratch. This exhibition brings together artists working in the Pacific Northwest to address themes of home and belonging. These artists represent a geographical range from Seattle and Portland all the way to Montana and Alaska, and they include a mix of ceramic artists and artists from other disciplines who were willing to take on clay.
