TEL: (0034) 711 096 354 So What’s on the Ed’s mind this month..? Some like it hot, but not that “beeping” hot, that’s what! Has there ever been so many wild fires during the summers across Andalucia? Surely most of these incendiaries are caused by human errors more than natural occurrences..? Whatever the main cause it has stretched the fire services beyond their capabilities and they’ve conquered most of what nature has thrown at them. Most of us have only ever seen the yellow planes in training exercises and the Torre Del Mar Air Show, but now we have witnessed at first hand what they can do when the sh#t hits the fan..Heroes all! This August will see the return of the annual Málaga fair. Polka dot dresses, cool sweet wine and dancing from daytime through into the night. If you haven’t experienced the feria in past and want to give it a whirl, be aware that there are 2 simultaneous fairs. One is bang in the centre of the city during the daytime with live bands, street music, buzzing tapas bars and stalls selling the famous feria sweet wine. The daytime fair comes to an end at 6pm. Then the night feria starts to come alive and gets into full party mode well into the early hours. TIP: don’t do both in 1 day!! If you do, write to us and tell us how bad your hangover really was! Have an Olé August! JJ The ed x

arrived in the U.K., and have now deemed it “unseaworthy.” When it arrived in 2019, it purportedly lacked a load line and antifouling certificate, which verifies that it doesn’t have any “coating, paint, surface, treatment, surface or device” that harms sea life below. Still, the ship, a museum that tells stories from the Bible with quirky sculptures, remained open to the public until the coronavirus pandemic shut it down in March 2020. It had previously sailed to several other European countries without incident. But now, British officials have cited further concerns about its safety, including issues with its fire equipment, life jackets, and lifeboats, and refuse to let it leave. The owner, Dutch television producer Aad Peters, has been fined over €65,000 so far. And the port is fining him €700 per day that the ship remains. However, Peters argues that the ship, which is built on a barge, has no engine, and must be towed wherever it goes, is a “non certified floating object” and is not required to “comply with international regulation.” He insists he is ready to tow it back to the Netherlands if British authorities would just let him.

How was padel invented? How was padel invented? Enrique Corcuera in 1969 decided to adapt his Squash court at his home in Acapulco (Mexico) with elements of Platform Tennis creating what he called “Paddle Corcuera”. He is considered the inventor of Padel. Enrique’s Spanish friend Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langenburg tried this new invention at Enrique’s home and instantly felt in love. Immediately after, he decided to create the first two Padel courts in a Tennis club in Marbella (Spain), this was 1974. Nevertheless Alfonso included few modifications from Enrique’s original designs to make it more competitive, being this the first of many iterations Padel will have in the following 20 years in Spain. In the meantime in 1975, Julio Menditeguy an Argentinian member of Alfonso’s Tennis club in Marbella felt the same passion and decided to import the sport to Argentina.

Since the first courts in Spain, Padel took nearly 25 years to be extended all over the Spanish geography. Finally in the early 2000s there were more than 500 Padel clubs and many Spanish hotels already included as sport activity Padel Courts. Specially since 2010 this sport has been constantly growing and blossoming all over the world and it is now for many people considered the fastest growing sport around the world. Itchy Head...? Nits, Head Lice.. This may have you scratching your head! Head lice are tiny grey/brown insects. They are about the size of a sesame seed (the seeds on burger buns). Head lice cling to hairs but stay close to the scalp which they feed off. Head lice lay eggs which hatch after 7 to 10 days. It takes about 7 to 10 days for a newly hatched louse to grow into an adult and start to lay eggs. Nits are the empty yellow-white eggshells which are left when the lice hatch. Nits look like dandruff but stick strongly to hair. Unlike dandruff, you cannot easily brush out nits. They are not a sign of dirty hair or poor hygiene. Close hair-to-hair contact is usually needed to pass lice on. Head lice cannot jump or fly but walk from one head to another. They soon die when away from hair and they do not live for long in clothes, bedding, etc. However, they can occasionally be passed by sharing items such as brushes, combs, hats or bedding. Most head lice

infections are caught from family or close friends who are not aware that they have head lice. The main ways of treating head lice and nits are: Medicated lotion and spray treatments. Wet combing. Most insecticides need to be used twice, and combing has to be done several times over at least two weeks. Everything that you need to treat head lice can be bought over the counter - NHS England has advised GPs not to prescribe for this problem and so it is best to see a pharmacist rather than your GP.

Not just a shy girl..

How a used a clothes business went global.. Founded in 2008 as a website, where Lithuanian girls could swap their clothes, it has later grown, with a solid investment, into an international clothing business with 11 million members on a Vinted social networking service. In 2013, Vinted raised 6 million euros from Accel Partners, a major venture capital and growth equity firm, and another 24.8 million euros at the beginning of 2014 from Accel Partners and Insight Venture Partners. The latter being one of the largest rounds ever for a Baltic-based startup. Value-wise, Vinted remains the highest-valued startup in the Baltics. Aiming to make second hand clothing the first choice worldwide, Vinted has already made its name as an avid ecology-friendly business promoter. “Remembering myself in school – no, I could never have imagined being a business leader. It would have looked like something from a

science-fiction book. To be honest, at the time, I didn’t have any skills to be successful in business. I was super shy, I was afraid of people, I was reactive, but not proactive in any area. But with time I noticed I needed to grow, especially after Vinted was launched. It was and still is quite challenging. But that’s the beauty of life, isn’t it?” The second big milestone was Vinted’s launch in Germany in 2009, a year after its Lithuanian launch. Before this we used to think of ourselves as a local business. But with our German launch our mindset changed – we started to see ourselves as a potential global player. Now more and more counrties are coming onboard you could definitely say that Vinted is here to stay!

Van Life!

Van Life.. Why has it become so popular? T Van lifers come from all walks of life: there are older van lifers, young couples, singles, and families too. Although recreational vehicles have been around for about a century and many people have lived nomadic lives both in and out of vans, the lifestyle is increasing in popularity now largely because the internet makes it possible for people to work, go to school, and otherwise perform daily life tasks from anywhere which means they aren’t compelled to stay in one place. The call of the road still beckons, though. While the 1980s and 1990s were a period of economic growth and increased materialism, now many people, especially Millennials, are longing for a return to minimalism. Many employers’ flexibility to work-from-home or at least work from any place that has an internet connection is making that possible. Also, there is a good amount of people that prefer to work on their own in the gig

economy, which also lends to the Vanlife demographic. So, many people are finding just about anything to convert into their personal Vanlife headquarters and ditching the mansions. While car camping has increased in popularity, smaller vehicles have their restrictions. Full-size vans offer more space and are seeing conversions starting to happen again, many into living quarters. Organisations have also been springing up to support Vanlife, such as the app makers. The MPV and camping industry has been creating apps that not only show free campsites but also indicate what locations have bathrooms or shower houses. Hit the road Jack!

€€ Currencies Direct - Latest Currency News €€ GBP/EUR exchange rate rocked by recession fears and political uncertainty Over the past month the GBP/EUR exchange rate has traded in an extremely wide range, with the pairing striking both a one-year low of €1.14 and a two-month high of €1.18, while EUR/GBP fluctuated between £0.84 and £0.87. What’s been happening? Fears that Russia could cut off gas supplies to Europe have stoked Eurozone recession fears in recent weeks. Concerns over which have seen a dramatic reversal in the GBP/ EUR exchange rate, which rebounded from a one-year low to a two-month high. These recession fears curtailed EUR investor optimism over impending interest rate hikes from the European Central Bank (ECB) and opened a path for the pound to recover from the UK’s own economic concerns. Also injecting volatility into the GBP/EUR exchange rate was considerable political

uncertainty in the UK, which culminated in the resignation of Boris Johnson in early July. What do you need to look out for? Looking ahead, so long as the threat of a European gas shortage remains, the upside potential of the euro looks extremely limited. Although an upcoming rate hike from the ECB may help to limit the single currency’s losses. Meanwhile the uncertainty which surrounds the Conservative leadership race could leave the pound on the back foot in the coming weeks. The Málaga Fair..Olé!

The Málaga Fair...Attracts up to 1 million visitors in 8 days. It is very popular, exuberant and cosmopolitan. For example, entry to the casetas (areas of the night feria where people eat, drink and dance) is open to all and free. Malaga is also generally appreciated for its hospitality and openness to all. The Feria takes place in two different locations in Malaga: in the city centre, for the daytime Feria, which concentrates most of the events and in the Real del Cortijo de Torres for the night fair. The Malaga Feria 2022 has its origins in a historical date. It celebrates the reconquest of the city by the Catholic kings (Isabel of Castile and Fernando II of Aragon) on 18 August 1487. In the town centre many malaguenas will be wearing gypsy attire, usually a polka dot dress, with a flower in their hair and a manila shawl. Often, from 6pm onwards,

young people arrive in large numbers to do “botellón” (which can be translated as “openair aperitif”), before going on to the night fair. Copious ammounts of Cartojal will be downed as the popular sweet wine is the drink of choice for the feria gowers. Enjoy dancing in the Plaza de la Constitucion during concerts or panda de verdiales (typical Malaga music and dance) in Calle de Larios. An ancestral fandango that is very much alive in the province of Malaga! Taste tapas or tapitas around the city..Enjoy!

Solar Panel Pergola

Solar panel pergola..Power from shade! What are solar pergolas, and why are they so popular these days? The majority of homeowners that install a solar pergola are purely looking for an amazing unique entertaining area. Some homeowners want to customise the type of wood used and the pergola design to highlight features such as an outdoor bar and dining area. It really depends on the site of the system you want or need. Some homeowners like the idea of completely eliminating their power bill, while some would just like a large enough system to keep them from paying a higher tier usage cost. A solar panel pergola provides added benefits including a sure way of reducing your electricity costs by using the most precious power resource we have in Spain. A solar pergola is essentially just a custom

racking system for tax purposes but it has the benefits of providing a sheltered entertaining area. Solar panels can be added to existing pergolas. Solar panels provide grade shade for outdoor areas and can fit on outdoor structures including carports, canopies, and pergolas. If you are looking to expand your current system or want to avoid panels on your roof, adding them to your pergola is a great way to still reap the benefits of solar.

Menopause & Symtoms How to tackle menopause symtoms... Keep a diary to track what sets off your hot flushes. Caffeine? Alcohol? A hot room? Stress? All are common causes. When a flush starts, take slow, deep breaths, in your nose and out your mouth. They can be just part of an array of menopause indicators called vasomotor symptoms (VMS).For tough cases, talk to your doctor. At night, hot flushes can go on for 3 minutes or more, leaving you drenched in sweat and unable to sleep. But there are ways to keep your cool. Trade the heavy flannels for light PJs. Put a bag of frozen peas under your pillow. Flip the pillow through the night and put your face on the cool side. Choose layers of light blankets over one thick quilt. Use a bedside fan to keep air moving. Hormone changes leave the vagina thinner and dryer, which can make sex painful. Lucky for you, lots of products can help. Try nonprescription, water-based vaginal lubricants or vaginal moisturizer. You can also ask your doctor about prescription vaginal creams or rings, or

prescription pills for dryness and painful sex. The more sex you’re able to have, the better for blood flow, which keeps things healthy down there. Make more time for sex. Try massage and foreplay, too. Use erotica and new-for-you sex routines as ways to build desire. Hormone changes are a main cause, but other things that zap your sex drive can strike at the same time. Ask your doctor about poor sleep, bladder trouble, or feeling depressed or stressed. A change in your sleep schedule may trigger headaches, so try to keep to the same schedule every night. Treatments vary and ome can prevent migraines so talk with your doctor for best options.

Random Joke!

A programmer and his project manager board a train headed through the mountains. They can find no other place to sit, except for two seats right across the aisle from a young woman and her grandmother. After a while, it becomes quite clear that the woman and the programmer are interested in each other, as they keep looking at each other. The young lady flirts and lifts her skirt flashing her panties at the handsome young programmer. Soon, the train passes into a tunnel and it is pitch black. There is the sound of a kiss followed by the sound of a slap. When the train finally emerges from the tunnel, the four sit there without saying a word. The grandmother thinks to herself, “It was very rude of that young man to kiss my granddaughter, but I am glad she slapped him.” The project manager thinks to himself, “I did not think the programmer was brave enough to kiss the woman, but I wish she hadn’t

missed him when she slapped me.” The young woman thought to herself, “I am glad the guy kissed me, but I wish my grandmother had not slapped him.” The programmer has a satisfied smile on his face and thinks, “Life is good. How often does a guy have a chance to kiss a beautiful woman and slap his project manager at the same time.”

We are British citizens and also have a house in Spain. How will Brexit affect our ability to stay extended periods there? Under the rules of Brexit, UK citizens are only be able to holiday in Spain or most other EU countries for a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period. The exceptions are Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania, which will not limit visits in this way. If you want to stay in Spain for longer than 90 days out of 180 then you will need to apply for a visa - that also applies to second home owners. What about travelling with mans best friend? Pet passports issued in Great Britain (though not Northern Ireland) are not valid for travel to the EU from 1 January 2021. Instead, the EU has agreed that pets arriving from Great Britain will need to have an animal health certificate (AHC). AHCs will be issued by certified vets. They will be valid for four months and must be

31

obtained at least 10 days before travel. They will be valid for a single trip into the EU, onward travel within the EU and re-entry to Great Britain. What about sending a package to the UK. I sent a personal sports kit back to the UK to use on return and UPS have charged me a customs duty of 52 pounds to “import my own used and privately owned personal artefact” If I don’t pay they return or destroy the item! What Is Crypto Currency?

What Is Cryptocurrency? In theory, cryptocurrency is a virtual currency that’s held and distributed online. In reality, it’s a digital asset that may gain or lose value in a similar fashion to stocks and bonds. Whereas a cash currency incorporates paper bills and metal coins, a cryptocurrency uses a virtual “coin,” “token,” or “unit.” You can purchase a coin/token/unit from any company that facilitates cryptocurrency exchanges, and you can trade, buy, or sell with other people who own cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is by far the largest and most popular cryptocurrency system in the world. In fact, some financial experts define any cryptocurrency that’s not Bitcoin as “altcoin.” That’s a testament to Bitcoin’s dominance. You might be wondering, “What gives a cryptocurrency unit its value?” For most assets, the value is determined by market factors. Let’s take the real estate market, for example. What determines the

value of a property? A property might be appraised higher if it’s in a desirable location, or if it’s more luxurious, or if it’s in a neighborhood that’s likely to see an increase in home prices. Cryptocurrency values are also tied to the marketplace, but in a different way. There’s no physical asset that’s affected by the local economy. And the value isn’t tied to corporate profits. The value of a cryptocurrency unit is entirely dependent on whether or not people want to buy cryptocurrency units. The value of cryptocurrency is based on nothing but consumer interest in buying cryptocurrency. If lots of people are buying crypto, then the value will rise. If people stop buying crypto, then the value will fall.

CBD Rocks will bring you reliable information and advice on CBD each month. We also offer free consultation service so that you can call upon us at any point! Pain is the most common reason for a visit to the doctor – not surprising, considering that an estimated one-third to one-half of people live with some kind of daily ache. It is something individual, and people experience it and respond to it in different ways. CBD oil and other cannabidiol products are often used effectively for pain relief. Living with severe pain, chronic pain, or other forms of pain is often a burden on people. It hinders many people in their daily activities. People have used CBD or cannabis for thousands of years to treat various types of pain, but the medical community has only recently begun to study it again. Every human and animal has a cell signalling system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). (That is a whole other

She was a bright pupil at school and her parents wanted her to go to university, but after her first taste of show business, when her grandmother took her backstage at a theatre, she decided acting was what she wanted to do. Windsor did become well known in the London theatrical scene, but it was the “Carry On” comedies that made her a star. Although she appeared in only nine films in the long-running series (she left because she thought they were getting too risqué)

How to weather a HEATWAVE Heatwaves make daily life difficult... The oppressive temperatures of a heatwave can have far-reaching impacts, from risks to human health to destroying crops and increasing the risk of wildfires. In 2019, extreme heat is estimated to have caused the deaths of 356,000 people worldwide, according to one set of estimates, making it one of the most dangerous yet overlooked natural hazards. While there is still a great deal of uncertainty about toll that heatwaves take (the World Health Organization estimates 166,000 people died between 1998 and 2017, by comparison), there is little doubt that the number of people exposed to heatwaves around the world is increasing. One of the easiest ways to stay cool can be to take advantage of the temperature change in the air when water evaporates. Taking a cold shower or a swim can help you cool down quickly. Ancient societies placed earthenware jars of water or wet sheets in front of a window or a draughty spot, helping

to cool the air as it passes over it. This can also work if you are using a fan by blowing the air over a bowl of ice or cool wet sheet. Generally, fans are thought to help in temperatures up to 35C (95F), but above that blowing hot air across the body could make the situation worse and even increase dehydration. It’s also worth remembering that fans use motors to work, and so generate some heat of their own while running, so it is a good idea to keep a window ajar to improve the flow of air. Keeping out of the sun between 11am - 3pm.

Heat waves cont.

In the longer term there are a huge variety of ways we could adapt our houses and buildings to stay cooler in high temperatures, from wind catchers – towers which create cross ventilation in buildings and have been used by societies for millennia, to green roofs and corridors. Trees are an amazing way to keep cities cool – and even a single tree in a street or a garden can provide measurable cooling benefits. Meanwhile, cities such as Tokyo have experimented with new ways to keep a wider city cool, from solar-blocking paint to new types of lowenergy air conditioning. When the body becomes too hot or struggles to regulate its temperature, it can lead to heat exhaustion. It can come on quickly or over a few hours, but symptoms include feeling faint, excessive sweating, clammy skin, cramps and nausea. This can also lead to heatstroke, which means the body

can no longer manage the heat and you should seek medical attention. Symptoms include feeling confused, vomiting or nausea, no sweating, excessively hot skin, and loss of consciousness or seizures. Some medications can increase the risk of hot weather. Some drugs for epilepsy and Parkinson’s for example, have been found to reduce sweating and make it harder to stay cool. Diuretics can also increase the amount of water the body expels as urine, and could also lead to an imbalance of minerals.

CARRY ON ABROAD 50 YEARS AGO!

The Carry On series of 31 British comedy films was released between 1958 and 1978, produced by Peter Rogers with director Gerald Thomas. The humour of Carry On was in the British comic tradition of music hall and bawdy seaside postcards.

The Carry On series contains the largest number of films of any British film series, and is the second longest running, albeit with a fourteen-year gap (1978–1992) between the 30th and 31st entries. All films were made at Pinewood Studios near Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire. Budgetary constraints meant that a large proportion of the location filming was undertaken close to the studios in and around south Buckinghamshire, including areas of Berkshire and Middlesex. However, by the late 1960s (at the height of the series’ success) more ambitious plots occasionally necessitated locations further afield, which included Snowdonia National Park, Wales (with the foot of Snowdon standing in for the Khyber Pass in Carry On Up the Khyber), and the beaches of the Sussex coast doubling as Saharan sand dunes in Follow That Camel! It’s 50 Years from the Spanish frolics of Carry On Abroad.. The film opens with pub landlord and frequent holidaymaker Vic Flange (Sid James) openly flirting with

the sassy saucepot widow Sadie Tompkins (Barbara Windsor) as his battleaxe wife, Cora (Joan Sims), looks on with disdain. Their twitching friend Harry (Jack Douglas), who is prone to elaborate and violent twitches, arrives and reveals that the package holiday Vic has booked to the Mediterranean island Elsbels (a pun on the slang expression “Hell’s Bells”) which is on the Costa Bomm, also includes Sadie, much to Cora’s outrage. Cora, who avoids holidays because she hates flying, suddenly decides to accompany her boorish husband on the trip, to ensure he keeps away from Sadie.

On May 13, 1967, Sid James suffered a severe heart attack. He was still lying bedridden in the hospital when the Carry On Doctor film was being filmed. He quit smoking cigarettes and instead smoked a pipe or an occasional cigar. The Heritage Foundation commemorative blue plaque for James was installed at the former Teddington Studios on Boom Road, Teddington, Greater London.

OOh Saucy Barbara Windsor has been married three times, to gangster Ronnie Knight (1964-1985), publican Stephen Hollings (1986-1995) and actor Scott Mitchell (2000 to date). Although she played many roles as a hot tottie Barbera was no pushover... Barbara’s take on feminism: “I run around men like a tit in a trance. I know feminists say: ‘Why do this, Windsor?’ but I’ve always been my own woman. I’ve always paid my own way.”

Kenneth Williams gained great popularity in the “Carry On” film series, but he was poorly compensated and harshly critical of his and others’ performances in the film; he once said he earned more performing in a British Gas commercial than he did while with the film series. This became the case with many of the films and shows in which he appeared. He was quick to find fault with his own work, and also that of others. Despite this, he spoke fondly of the Carry Ons in interviews. Hattie starred in the first Carry On film and the first of 14 she would appear in and she was typecast from the off by playing a “battleaxe medical officer” in Carry On Sergeant. Hattie would play her signature role, that of a no-nonsense matron, in no fewer than five Carry Ons, including the sublime Carry On Doctor and became known as a “Mother Hen” figure to the team. She became close to Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey and Joan Sims, whom she provided with a great deal of practical advice and help, and would often invite

the trio to her house for Christmas dinner. Hattie would often be found in front of the cooker in a long, rather tatty evening dress she wore as a housecoat, at nine o’clock in the morning after a raucous party. In 1958 he began work in the series for which he

would achieve his greatest fame, the “Carry On” comedies. His stringy build, birdlike features, what has been described as his “outrageously posh” voice and his somewhat fey character’s eccentricities made him one of the most popular of the “Carry On” gang. However, that very popularity indirectly led to his exit from the series. He believed that his character’s prominence, and the fact that he had more experience in the business than most of his co-stars, entitled him to receive a higher billing in the series than he was getting. The producers didn’t see it that way, and after Carry on Abroad (1972), he departed the series. Well we do love a larrrf.. Carry on memories from the Whippet Inn!

Golf tips from the “19th Hole!”

It’s been said before, “Golf is a simple game made difficult by those who play it!” Golfers are competitive; you have to be to want to spend 4-5 hours of your life chasing a small ball across a manicured stretch of campo. There is the social and physical exercise to enjoy, but you all want to find a way of improving your game and scoring more consistently. Golf what’s it about. It’s a game that you play against yourself, sure you could be playing against an opponent in a Match Play competition but no other game played has the format of playing against your own body muscle memory and the thing between your ears and the challenge of the campo before you. Golf is a simple game, it is a mechanical game, all you have to do is present a flat surface to a round surface, simples, no! In these articles I will attempt to highlight and explain why the game of golf and your own understanding of it can be improved. I enjoy my frequent round of golf with 3 others who consider themselves as mid range handicappers. Our eclectic 4 ball have played a number of the courses along the Costa del Golf, and have enjoyed courses such as Alferini, Los Arqueros, La Cala, Marbella GC and many others. Like most reading this I have an understanding of the game and know how to play, but the how and the able don’t always coincide. Golf is a game of black and white when scoring, sure you can halve a hole or a match, but your score on the hole and match is a whole number, no 9 out of 10 for style or content on each hole. So what you have to come to terms with is each strike of the ball another 1 goes on to your score. Sounds as obvious as it is, but when you stand on the tee of a par 5 x 475 meter hole it is a par 5 for a reason. A 6 or 7 for all but a scratch golfer is a good score and when you come off with a 6 or a 7 congratulate

yourself. Fortunately we are all different and consequently all have differing skill sets and concentration levels. That given there are some really basic things to remember, the total time spent being required to concentrate on an 18 hole round of golf lasting 4.5 hours can be 45minutes. You have around 3.5 hours within your round to completely clear your mind and enjoy the course or a chat and/or to think about what you are going to do next. Spend some time as you approach where you think or can see your ball not necessarily trying to work out how far your next shot should be but where would you like that shot take your ball leaving you where you feel most comfortable. If you are good with a 9 iron approaching the green try to put your ball just where it suits you. Think like a pro, work your way around the course. You are now in a positive mind set and ready to concentrate for that short time per shot. I have a playing partner whose sole objective in life when standing on a tee is to send the ball into orbit, you have all played with people like that – you may be one. Unsurprisingly he frequently sends his tee shot into the adjoining post code never to be seen again! The result is disappointment and frustration both of which could be avoided if he thought more about his game and capabilities. What I plan is put you into a better frame of mind and help with some of the basics that you need to adopt to make the transition to better golf easier. Written by Squadron Leader Shackleton

The common clownfish’s lifecycle is both interesting and rare. Like all clownfishes, this species changes sex throughout its lifetime. Sex change is not particularly rare, but most species change from female to male. The clownfishes change from male to female. All individuals hatch as males and eventually join groups of a few individuals living together in an anemone. Though they spend much of their lives swimming among the tentacles of their host anemone, common clownfish occasionally leave to feed. They are plankton pickers, which means they visually seek and eat individual zooplankton or phytoplankton floating in the water column.

The largest individual of each group is the only female, and she and the largest male are the only two that reproduce. The large, dominant female lays her eggs on the reef surface, and the male fertilizes them. Together, they guard the nest from egg predators until they hatch. If anything happens to the female, the reproductive male changes sex, becoming the dominant female. The next largest male then becomes reproductively active, and the other males in the group continue to be subordinate.

Low Calorie Beer, what’s that all about?

Light Beer, Low Calorie Beer..uh? Low-calorie beer often doesn’t get much respect among discriminating beer connoisseurs, many of whom may be skeptical that you can get the full-bodied, rich taste of a premium beer in a trimmed-down, diet-friendly version. And while it’s true that in the past many light beers may have left you feeling shortchanged, today there are many terrific—and satisfying—low-calorie beers that run the gamut from traditional classics to exotic twists. No matter what your tastes, there is sure to be a light beer that you will enjoy. What is a Light Beer? Determining what exactly qualifies as a light beer isn’t necessarily easy, since there are no clear-cut, hard-and-fast rules, and regulations vary widely by region. In this case a beer that must have more than 33% less calories than the normal.

Best deviled Eggs recipe! Best Deviled Eggs reipe... While you prepare your eggs by hard boiling them, allow about two tablespoons of butter to sit out at room temperature. It’s important to use softened butter for your eggs. Cold butter won’t blend in with the yolks and other ingredients, leaving you with curdledlooking deviled eggs. Once you’re ready to prepare your filling, remove the yolks and set aside your egg whites. For that extra creamy texture we’re after, combine your egg yolks, mayo, mustard, softened butter, and seasonings and place them in the food processor (if you need one of those, here’s our pick). Once your filling looks light and creamy, spoon it into the egg whites or if you’re feeling fancy, spoon it into a Ziploc or piping bag and carefully pipe it into your egg whites. This is perfect for a holiday or special gathering.

1/2 cup mayonnaise 2 tablespoons 2% milk 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes 1/2 teaspoon dill weed 1/2 teaspoon minced chives 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon pepper 12 hard-boiled large eggs Minced fresh parsley and additional paprika

Sister Mary Immaculata then rolls up her window, looks back at Mother Superior, quite innocently, and asks, “Did that sound cross enough? *************************************************** A man was getting a haircut prior to a trip to Rome. So, how are you getting there? “We’re taking TWA,” was the reply. “We got a great rate! “TWA? “ exclaimed the barber. “That’s a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they’re always late. So, where are you staying in Rome? “We’ll be at the downtown International Marriott. “That dump! The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a beautiful 28 year old stewardess who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel-it was great! They’d just finished a 25million euro remodeling job and now it’s the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us the presidential suite at no extra charge! “Well,” muttered the barber, “I know you didn’t get to see the pope. “Actually, we were quite lucky, for as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder and explained that the pope likes to personally meet some of the visitors, and if I’d be so kind as to step into his private room and wait the pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later the pope walked through the door and shook my hand!
