Summer 2015 Missions Trip Ian and Lily to Dominican Republic Berean Baptist Church of Burnsville, MN is sending a team of high school students to Dominican Republic this summer to serve a local church there. This is in keeping with Berean’s mission statement: Berean exists to see our lives, our community and the world transformed by the power of the gospel. Here is what Lily has to say about the upcoming trip:
Our trip to the Dominican Republic is from August 1st to 7th. We will be working with an organization called Praying Pelicans. We will be doing whatever the church needs of us, such as VBSs, yard work, sports ministry, and stuff like that. We will learn more as we continue to prepare and as the team develops. Well hey there! Its Ian coming to you by snail mail! I’m 16 years old. I’m a sophomore in high school; I love spending time with friends and learning new things. I enjoy helping people in any way I can. I would like to go on a mission’s trip to the Dominican Republic this summer and I need your help! Through prayer and some financial aid I can spread the word of God and help Christians there with anything they need.
Hi, everyone! So, this year I'm a freshman in a high school; I absolutely love it. So, the reason why I'm writing this letter is I have an extremely exciting opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic this summer. I feel as if it is a phenomenal opportunity to serve God. I'm excited to help the native people of the Dominican Republic.
I made a vow with God earlier this year, I said, "God I want to take every opportunity to serve you; no matter how difficult or dangerous" (or something like that). I felt like this was a perfect opportunity to do that! I can't wait to serve God and people this summer. I also can't wait for the adventure of it!
Partnership We need people to join us in prayer and financial support. The cost is $1900 each for Ian and Lily plus $900 for Mike who is able to go as one of the leaders. That’s $4700. Will you pray for and/or join us financially? Ian and Lily have each already contributed $100 of their own money. We all need to pay for our flights by 03/22.
