Merry Christmas 2015
We hope you have had a wonderful year! Here are some of the big things for us… Memorial Trip The six of us, along with Brenda’s sister’s family, enjoyed a nice vacation on the North Shore of Minnesota in honor and memory of Brenda’s parents who both went to be with our Lord in October 2014. Missions Trip Ian and Lily spent a week in the Dominican Republic serving a small church. They did this with the youth group from our church, Berean Baptist. Mike had the privilege of being one of the leaders. School Over the summer, Elle started a nursing program at Dakota County Technical College. Connor completed his two-year degree at Inver Hills Community College and is now working toward his bachelor’s degree in business management at Minnesota State University – Mankato. Ian
and Lily continue to be home schooled by Brenda but are also each taking a few classes at Apple Valley High School. We’re glad to report that all are doing well! Losses In addition to the painful loss of Brenda’s parents late last year, Mike’s father passed away in September. It’s been hard on the kids losing three of four grandparents in less than a year but we are all comforted in the knowledge that each had put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Jobs Brenda is working part-time at Wings Financial. This year, she was able to transfer to the branch in Apple Valley. Mike completed his first year in the IT department at the City of Apple Valley. Brenda and Mike now both work less than two miles from home. A short commute is a small miracle! Elle and Connor are both enjoying hours at Caribou Coffee. Ian handles all of the mowing and snow clearing services for an elderly woman across the street and Lily takes the occasional babysitting job. Christmas As we enjoy this holiday season with family and friends, may we each remember the miracle of God, the sovereign creator and sustainer of everything, choosing to give us the gift of his son, Jesus, so that we can have a relationship with him. That truly is the best Christmas present we could every receive!
