ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Applicants seeking admission to Seminole State College’s bachelor’s degree programs must comply with the College’s General Admissions procedure. In addition, students must meet the following program-specific requirements prior to being accepted into upper-division coursework.
1. Completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Students who have earned a minimum of 60 college credit hours from any regionally accredited institution may request to have their admission reviewed and determined by the faculty committee.
2. A GPA of 2.5 or higher
3. Students must complete all construction prerequisite courses identified during the admission review prior to starting upper-division courses.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Wharton-Smith Center for Construction’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Construction prepares students for a career in construction project management in various roles such as project manager, project superintendent, estimator, scheduler and project engineer for a variety of construction projects, ranging from residential to complex commercial developments. Students will acquire knowledge of construction materials, methods and techniques in conjunction with the latest industry software and technologies, such as augmented/virtual reality and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Students will develop skills to manage projects from conception to completion with an emphasis placed on the vertical construction sector of the industry. The Seminole State degree prepares students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become construction management professionals, which are in high-demand in the Central Florida region.
