The Orlando MSA (Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties) is No. 2 in the nation for job growth, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics with jobs for professional and business services growing faster than the national average. Orlando is also “a thriving hub for corporate headquarters and regional offices, attracting industry leaders who are driving innovation and growth across a range of sectors,” according to the Orlando Economic Partnership.

Seminole State is prepared for this growth with one of the largest business programs in Central Florida and a pipeline of 1,100 students annually to ensure a consistent supply of qualified employees to establish or grow a business.

DEGREES AND PROGRAMS THAT LEAD TO CAREERS

B.A.S. Management and Organizational Leadership prepares graduates for careers as business leaders, managers and supervisors in virtually any business scenario with specializations in entrepreneurship and general business.

B.S. Business and Information Management prepares graduates for professional roles combining business with applied technology. These individuals serve as a bridge between those who implement information systems technology and the business end users of these systems. Graduates work in general and entrepreneurial businesses, data analytics, human resources, social media and e-marketing.

Associate in Science (A.S.) Business Degrees prepare graduates for middle skills jobs in accounting, business administration, finance, paralegal/legal assistance, accountants, administrators, in accounting, business administration, finance, hospitality management, legal assistance/paralegal, social media and e-marketing.

Certificates: With a range of certificates, Seminole State has ways for graduates and students to upskill and reskill with Certificates of Professional Preparation and College Credit Certificates in a wide range of business functions from accounting to office management. These lead to career opportunities across industries for roles such as business manager, financial analyst, marketing coordinator, human resources specialist, entrepreneur, sales manager or operations manager.

To ensure we meet the needs of Orlando’s fast-paced economy, the college works closely with industry advisory boards representing large national and regional employers and mediumsized businesses in financial services, real estate, insurance, healthcare, technology, government and other sectors.
