The conference served as a platform for church leaders to deepen their understanding of Seed Effect's mission and to foster further collaboration in spreading the Word of God to all communities. Click here to read more about the conference.

NEW PARTNERSHIP

I was born again before joining but I had no mentor. Seed Effect has helped my faith grow At the meetings, I hear the Word of God and participate in singing praise and worship I now feel connected to the people in this community What I love most about Seed Effect is the spiritual discipleship I plan to continue as a member of Rubanga Twero Group and be an ambassador to this great program

“Tutapona!”, meaning “We will be healed!” in Swahili, provides group-based, mental health programming to people that have been displaced. Tutapona and Seed Effect have partnered to combine Christcentered economic empowerment and mental health counseling at our Adjumani branch. By partnering together and combining our resources, we can each remain focused on our core programs, and bring further transformation, empowerment, and restoration to those we serve.

Chaundra Eagar, Tutapona’s Director of Communications, said, “When we work together, everything works better... Not only are we improving livelihoods and empowering people to take control of their own lives... but we are also fostering authentic hope for the future and restored relationships.” To read more about this new partnership click here.

I thank Seed Effect for connecting us to Tutapona I have been in deep trouble since I came to the settlement and it got worse after my husband died The teaching by Tutapona helped me I learned that when you keep something in your heart, it hurts you. After the teaching, I started healing. It has improved my state of mind and changed my life. I will never go back to the state I was in

PLAN FOR A BETTER BUSINESS

Seed Effect has partnered with the Chalmers Center to provide business training for all second-cycle members. In 2023, 201 groups have received this training.

Zakia, a member of the Never Be Alone Seed Effect Group in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, is a wife and mother of four children. She shared that it was difficult to feed her family, pay school fees, and keep her home in working condition before she joined Seed Effect.

After joining Seed Effect, Zakia received business training through the Chalmers Center’s Plan for A Better Business curriculum. After completing the training, she dreamt of opening a small-scale retail business. She took a loan of 500,000 Ugandan shillings from her group and started a new business selling tomatoes, onions, and rice.

I and my family thank Seed Effect Uganda for empowering us.

2023 GROWTH

Zakia realized a profit after just three months and was able to buy a goat. This has multiplied and today she now has four goats. Zakia continues to invest in her small business which has enabled her to support her children and pay for their education. Her business has grown so much that she and her husband are currently constructing a small house for their family!
