At first you choose a ramp. Additionally storage tanks, compressors, a proper surface, cables and hoses are important requirements for your de-pollution station.

Preperation

Before the drainage, the vehicle must be prepared. That means removing the battery, refrigerant, airbags, windows and tyres.

De-pollution All operating fluids can be removed by using a SEDA de-pollution system. Special tools make these processes more efficient.

Reprocessing

SEDA offers numerous tools for the further processing of the vehicle after the drainage. As a result valuable raw materials can be extracted easily.

Scrap car De-pollution system The SEDA EasyDrain is an ideal solution to drain End-oflife vehicles (ELV) of all liquids. Individual pumps and specialist draining tools remove virtually all liquids in a safe and efficient manor. Specially developed and focused on smaller dismantlers, the SEDA EasyDrain concept is very successful. The engineering and economic challenge was to find an optimal combination for a clean, efficient, but fast and cost-effective solution. This Drainage station fulfills all this requirements. Scrap car de-pollution system The 4-Fluid Station is a compact and mobile entry-level solution for smaller dismantlers with a de-pollution rate of up to 5 vehicles per day. One strong vacuum pump, 4 tanks and all necessary depolluting tools are integrated in this system. Powered by an electric vacuum pump, the 4-Fluid Station helps to remove waste oil, brake, washer and coolant fluid. This de-pollution system is instantly ready to go. Simply use the connection panel and the compressed air plug on the side to empty the 4 intermediate tanks in the main fluid tanks. The 4-Fluid Station is silent, powerful and reliable.

Mobile de-pollution system The MDS6 is the newest container system of SEDA and provides an All-in-One solution for a mobile de-pollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) on the cutting edge of technology. Balfour Towing & Salvage’s business is located in an extremely beautiful, though remote location. With a total population of only 50,000 within a 4 hours driving radius, end-of-life vehicles are far and few between.

Every year Mr. Etelamaki accumulates 350 ELVs which needed to be processed in an efficient and environmentally sound manner. One person has to achieve this task and not a drop of fluid is allowed to spoil the pristine and ecologically sensitive site.

The company, which was founded in 1982 by Patrick Rochis, has 10 employees today. The drainage rate is 1.500 vehicles per year. Regular acquisitions make sure that the company is always technically up to date.

The company needed an allin-one solution for the drainage and dismantling of end-of-life vehicles. It needs to be easy to implement, placed under a porch and a non waterproof surface shouldn’t be a problem at all.

The SEDA MDS4 platform with a hydraulic ramp, which lifts up to 3.5 tons, complies with their request perfectly. All required devices are integrated on the platform, a fixed installation on the floor is not necessary and all liquids flow into separate storage tanks via a sophisticated system of pumps.

The SEDA GearboxDrillingMachine removes waste oil by drilling into the oil casings or pans. The height adjustment and drill speed are controlled by means of a gas spring and the foot pedal. Following the drilling process a specially designed rubber boot maintains the suction pressure to allow a virtually spill free drainage. The product is designed to drain waste oils without the need for the operator to attend the process after the initial setup. The Gearbox drill allows an easy and efficient drainage of engines, transmissions and rear differentials without or with compromised drainage plugs. An optional funnel serves as an additional time saving convenience to drain waste oils. The first pieces of suction hose is made transparent to allow visual control of the drainage process. A set of distance sleeves prevents accidentally drilling too deep in a gearbox and potentially damaging the drill bit on hardened gears. Proper use of distance sleeves is imperative for drill and drill bit longevity.

Shock absorber evacuation unit The 4 shock absorbers from a vehicle can contain up to 1.5 liters of oil which must be drained. Shock absorbers are not built with drainage screws so draining them can be a problem. SEDA provides a fast and cost effective solution with its new SOG². Powerful multi adjustable grip pliers secure the drilling unit to all sized shock absorbers while the specially designed drill bit creates a drainage hole for oil removal in seconds. Once the hole has been drilled the drill bit is retracted and the oil sucked out of the shock absorber through the SEDA SOG² to a secondary storage container. A suction hose is included with the delivery to remove any remaining oil below the drill hole. The fully revised shock absorber evacuation unit is an evolution of the hugely successful SOG. It features stronger grip pliers, a compact anodized housing and more powerful drilling action. The expanded drill chamber means more shocks can be drilled before removing drill fillings. Vehicle ramp The SEDA VehicleRamp is a steel construction for the perfect mounting of vehicles. We offer a hydraulic tilting ramp, a static version as well as additional support beams. The 4 ton vehicle ramp can be tilted vertically to access the lowest point of the fuel tank. Drilling allows an extra 1 – 2 liters of fuel per vehicle to be removed. Therefore it is possible to remove up to 98% of all fluids without spilling a drop.

Mobile Fuel Depot Equipped with 5 storage tanks the new SEDA TPF5 platform offers everything that is needed for the collecting of fluids of End-of-Life vehicles (ELV). Two 900 liter AI tanks for petrol and oil (used as well for contaminated liquids) and a 900 liter AIII tank for diesel is placed on the platform. HoseGun HD Fluid Evacuation tool To remove hydraulic oil from hoses or pipes effectively, a powerful tool is needed. The SEDA HoseGun HD is the perfect solution.

It is often necessary to evacuate liquids from a closed system or circuit without any leaking to protect the environment. Especially suited for tough hydraulic hoses, piercing the system and extraction of fluids with the SEDA HoseGun HD are a quick and easy method.

In conjunction with a vacuum unit and compressed air, the SEDA HoseGun HD works with a manual feed. The retracts pneumatically and the vacuum outlet at the punch tip closes automatically.

The solution

From the very beginning in 1928 Stene Stål A/S is one of the biggest metal recycler in Norway. Times have changed over the last years; so the company extended their business and started to drain ELV´s to profit from a new source of raw material.

There was a need of a mobile solution which can be build up quickly and start fast with the depollution process instantly. It has to be available inside and outside as well. Moreover it also needed cope with the cold Norwegian temperatures in the winter and be a reliable drainage solution which is prepared for any future demands.

The SEDA 5-STAR Container fulfilled their requirements. Especially with the NORDIC EXproofed electric radiators in the pump houses the station also works in the cold North. The mobile unit guarantees quick and uncomplicated transport and is easy to work with. The customer was convinced of the high quality of our product.

The MultiPlex is suitable for all vehicle-types. Universal pincables allow the connection of the device to different vehicle-control units. Additional adaptors are not necessary. CZ-Eko s.r.o was established in 2009 as the subsidiary of TROTINA Auto s.r.o., a company selling cars and small trucks since 1998. The recycling company will now expand its portfolio and can operate across the Czech Republic.

Due to growing demand for used car drainage, the processes had to be optimised and made faster. Also, storing of hazardous liquids and compliance with local legislation had to be taken into account.

Thanks to the SingleStation from SEDA with special accessories, the workload per vehicle was reduced by more than half while complying with all statutory regulations! With this degree of efficiency, the company would like to rise to the top ten among Czech car recycling businesses. We wish them a lot of success!

Refrigerator Recycling

AFR stands for: Automatic Freon gas and Refrigerator compressor oil removing machine. Another brand new innovation from SEDA which is a big step forward in refrigerator recycling. The SEDA AFR is a compact and robust „all in one device“ which clamps down and drills the compressor of old refrigerators and fully automatically extracts the compressor oil and environmentally harmful Freon gas and separates it. Unlike traditional systems which use special pliers to clamp the copper compressor pipes, the AFR drills the compressor from underneath which removes 98% of all oil and Freon gas. Plugging the drilled hole after drainage ensures the old compressor stays drip free. A leak test before drilling guarantees no CFC leakage.

Windshield removal The SEDA RescueCutter is a lightweight, always ready hand held tool with its own rechargeable power supply and cuts through vehicle windshields in seconds. The top model amongst the cooling system testing devices by SEDA “three in one“ test functions! In addition to pressurizing with the hand pump and/or compressed air, the pressure in the system (for early recognition of damage) can be built up by warming of engine. Once the operating temperature has been reached the following can be tested in one operational step: 1: pressure of cooling system, 2: leaks in the cylinder head and 3: ventilator / thermostat.

The pressure build-up in the radiator system takes place as in the 5-StarTester either during the warming up phase without air pressure or with air pressure via the tire inflator. For garages who prefer working with a hand pump we supply a coupling nipple for the connection in the case. With the SEDA system no overpressure can occur because it is protected by overpressure valves. The rest pressure stays in the system.

The Praktiker case is the SEDA entry model with which approximately 80% of all vehicle types can be tested for radiator system pressure and temperature. Extended with the three way distributor, CO2 Tester and reaction fluid the cylinder head seal can be tested with the cooling system test at the same time. In our experience we designed special tools, which faciliate your operations. The SEDA Radiator Cleaning Pistol acts as a high pressure cleaner, which flushes and cleans your radiator. Connect compressed air and water in order to flush radiators and other devices. Due to the 2 included special Attachments, punctual or comprehensive cleaning is possible.

1. The polluted radiator gets filled with hot water and cold cleaning agent. 2. After a short exposure time the Radiator Cleaning Pistol gets pressed on the outlet of the radiator and the pressurisation valve is pressed. 3. This process shall then be repeated at the inlet and afterwards at the outlet according to the degree of pollution.
