Message from the President First of, let me thank the editor Hui Lay for taking up this challenge to work on the 3rd edition of our 2017 Newsletter.

In JCI, development opportunity is always available but only to those who rise up the the challenge and my team have stood up to those occasion and this quarter have been busy. You will see from this newsletter that JCI Tanjung Bunga has been creating positive impact to our community and we will continue this effort to achieve our JCI Values together. Thank you!

It is my greatest pleasure to be the editor for Q3 Newsletter for JCI Tanjung Bunga.

It's been a wild ride in this 3rd quarter as we have so much in stored for our reader in this issue. From tournament to training, JCI Tanjung Bunga family members sure are busy.

I will try my best to highlight each precious and memorable moments.

It ain't no fun without a little bit of competition in the family. It was truly a family day on 22nd July, where we had our friendly game of bowling with our JCI Tanjung Bunga members. Don't under estimate our EVP, he sure knows how to bowl!

20th JCI Malaysia

Academy

JCI Malaysia Academy is an annual leadership program which invites upcoming JCI Local Organization President Candidates to prepare them to be the future leaders. The 20th JCI Malaysia Academy is hosted by JCI Seduan from 4th-6th August 2016 at University College of Technology Sarawak.

The academy is led by Head Trainer Teresa Alberto (JCI EVP 1997 & JCIM NP 1994).

Around 110 participants attended the academy including EVP Tan Wei Jian and CD Jamie Tiow who represented JCI Tanjung Bunga.

Academians learned varied skills throughout the academy by attending training sessions, carrying out assignments and taking part in games such as leadership, teamwork, time management, communication and more. In addition, there are also values gained by all the academians from the academy, for example respect, self-esteem, trust and friendship. This is indeed a fruitful program for JCI members.

How To Build Your Luck Jointly organized by 6 LO chapters on 15th July 2017, an inspiring talk about "How To Build Your Luck" by Masmeyer Development Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Dato' BK Choo, who was also one of the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian Award Winner of 2016.

Think Positive! Keep trying! Hold on to your faith! Never Give Up! " Dato' Choo shared his past experience and path to success in his business and personal life.

Having a good mindset is the key to building a path to success in life. Thinking outside of the box, that's what lead you to be successful in business and life.

Do the right thing at the correct timing " Dato' Choo is not only generous in sharing his life tip to success, he also have a charitable heart. All his proceedings from the seminar with be sponsored to SPCA 10 For Them Fund Raising Campaign.

Sister Chapter Visitation JCI Kumamoto Recently we welcomed our sister chapter from the land of the rising sun, JCI Kumamoto, that were visiting Penang from 18 to 20 August in conjunction with our 25th years of Sisterhood Pact.

Among the members of JCI Kumamoto were, Chapter President Atsuo-san, IPP Tsuru-san, Secretary General Yuto-san, Shu-san and Kentaro-san.

Business Symposium Expanding Your Business Legally Creatively

This is a project co-organized by JCI Tanjung Bunga and JCI United Penang which aims to inspire economic sustainability through business ownership. The conference main sponsored by our Deputy Chief Minister 1 (DCM1) Penang, YB Dato’s Haji Mohd Rashid Hasnon. It is an experiential networking and learning event for entrepreneurs gaining inspiration to bridge the gap between their current state and their targeted successful businesses.
