Refill Seaford and Newhaven are looking forward Shoppers in Seaford and Newhaven are saying goodbye to pointless packaging as award-winning campaign Refill expands. As we explained last month from 1st October people in Seaford and Newhaven have been able to use the free app to find places to refill their coffee cup, lunchbox, groceries and even cleaning products and toiletries, making it the world’s first dedicated app helping people to find where they can bring their own containers and refill – shunning single-use plastic for good. It also highlights discounts available and rewarding consumers for reducing packaging. Last month Walbrin’s and Gabriella’s joined the campaign as well, offering plastic-free fruit and vegetables plus a bring-your-own strong containers to the butchers scheme. As I write this we have just heard that Christmas Magic which was to have taken place on 5th December has been cancelled. So our presence on The Seaford Environmental Alliance Stall, where you would have had a FREE chance to win a Chillys bottle and pick up our new flyer, has unfortunately not gone to plan. However, do let us know via our email, if you run or know of a business that wants to join the scheme or offer refills for coffee etc. You can sign up using the app or website and add the coffee cup icon.
