President's Report
March Madness! I am sure we have all heard of that phrase before. More times than not, we think of basketball when we hear March Madness. Whether it is your local high school girls and boys or the college basketball teams, it signifies one final opportunity to try and win a championship.
By the time the March issue of the South Dakota Municipalities Magazine hits your mailbox, the South Dakota Legislature will have concluded the 2018 session. Although not in March, the session can be compared to a tournament run. Much time and energy are put into considering the pros and cons of each bill and ultimately deciding to pass or fail them. Although we at the local level are not a voting member at session, we and our hard working SDML staff are more than just fans. Our voice is very well valued and respected. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to Pierre for the Legislative Rib Dinner.
MARCH 2017
March madness continues with our yearly District meetings. This year our “Road to the District Meetings” takes us to Harrisburg, Geddes, Webster, Wessington Springs, Roscoe, Selby, Ft. Pierre, Huron, Wall and Deadwood. A chance to get the Legislative post game (session) report from Yvonne. I hope you are all making plans to attend, and I am looking forward to seeing each of you.
