CHIEF OF POLICE: Brookings, SD - The City of Brookings is seeking an experienced, committed law enforcement professional with a high level of ethics, integrity and proven leadership skills to serve as its new Chief of Police. Located in an ideal setting, Brookings is the county seat and home to South Dakota State University. The city operates under a home rule charter CouncilManager form of Government with an elected Mayor and six (6) city council members. Position supervises 48 FT employees and total annual budget of $4.5 M. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field required. Master’s degree and Advanced Law Enforcement Training are preferred. Candidate should possess at least 10 years of progressive responsible experience in law enforcement including management/command level experience of at least five (5) years preferred.
