9th Grade
Thefocusinthe9thGradeistoencouragestudentstodivedeeplyintotheiracademicstudiesandcocurricularinterestsatSierraCanyon.StudentswillparticipateinapracticePSATexam,andparentsare invitedtoaCollegeCounselingCoffee.
10th Grade
Duringthe10thGrade,studentsareintroducedtoacademicadvisingandcourseselectionassistance,learn theimportanceofself-assessmentsbeforebeginningthecollegesearch,andhavecontinuedexposureto standardizedtesting.ParentsareinvitedtotheSophomoreFamilyCollegeMeeting.
11th Grade
The11thGradefocusesongettingtoknowthedifferentcollegesthroughthe100+collegerepvisitsto SierraCanyon,localcollegefairs,andthecollegetoursofferedbytheSchool.Acollegelistissuggested basedonstudents'andfamilies'preferences CollegeCounselorsalsoprovideresourcesonthefinancialaid processandtestpreparation.Studentsandparentsbeginlearningaboutthecollegeapplicationprocess andrequirementsthroughtheCaseStudiesProgram,ledbyreal-lifeCollegeAdmissionDeans.
12th Grade
The12thGradeyearisthecapstoneprojectofthecollegeadmissionprocess.TheCollegeCounselingTeam providescomprehensivecollegeapplicationassistancefromstarttofinishwithindividualstudentand familymeetings.Familieswillreceivefurtherinformationaboutscholarshipopportunitiesandthefinancial aidprocess.Thestudentwillbeguidedtocreateabalancedcollegelistandstrategizeontheirbest applicationprocessplan.
