TheVarsityBoysSwimTeamhadrecord-breaking performancesandpostseasonsuccess.LukeH.'26 capturedtheMissionLeaguetitleinthe200IMwitha record-breakingtimeof1:52.34andadvancedtothe CIFStateChampionships.HealsoreachedtheCIF-SS Finalsinthe100Breaststroke,clockinginat58.28.At theMissionLeagueChampionships,Luketeamedup withChrisC '25,JasonZ '25,andAnthonyK '26to setanewschoolrecordinthe400FreestyleRelay (1:43.21),cappingoffastellarseasoninthepool.

Thisspring,SierraCanyon'sVarsitySoftball,Baseball, andBoysLacrosseTeamsalladvancedtotheCIF-SS Playoffs,highlightingaseasonofhardworkand competitiveexcellence Eachteambattledthrougha challengingscheduletoearntheirpostseasonberth, reflectingthestrengthandresilienceofour Trailblazerstudent-athletes.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

Sierra Canyon School hosted a Groundbreaking Ceremony for its future state-of-the-art Visual and PerformingArtsCenter TheCenterfortheArts.Thislong-awaitedmilestonemarksanewchapterinthe School'shistoryandthecompletionofourcampusmasterplan.ThisspacewillelevatetheSierraCanyon journey and support our endeavor to intentionally build academic agility, genuine confidence, and compassionatecharacterinourstudents.

Asguestsarrived,theytookinthescenicsettingneartheconstructionsite.Withmusicplayingandstudent artworkondisplay,thestagewassetnotonlyforaceremonialgroundbreakingbutalsoforacelebrationof thevibrantartsculturethatalreadyexistsatSierraCanyon

Attendees were welcomed with an inspiring program that captured the heart and soul of the project RemarksfromHeadofSchoolJimSkrumbis,AssociateHeadofSchoolandUpperSchoolDirectorStephanie Rubin,leaddonorandparentMichaelEverest(Enoch'28,Calliope'30,andHannah33),andPerformingArts Director Chris Sampson underscored the significance of the day and the vision for the future. Speakers reflected on the impact the building will have as a catalyst for student expression and interdisciplinary collaborationacrossalldivisions.

Throughoutthemorning,thevoicesandtalentsofstudentstookcenterstage.TheUpperCampusChoir performedabeautifulrenditionof“TrueColors,”whilestudentdancersbroughtenergytothecelebration.

A particularly moving moment came from a powerful performance by two students who blended Shakespeareanversewithliveinstrumentalaccompaniment.Alongsidethem,theVisualArtDepartment proudly showcased student pieces and presented a "Wishing Tree" of students' hopes for the future of SierraCanyonArts.Fromthestagetothegallery,theseperformancesanddisplaysnotonlyshowcasedthe extraordinarytalentwithinthestudentbodybutalsoofferedaglimpseofwhatispossibleoncethenew spacebecomesareality.

Theceremonyculminatedinasymbolicgroundbreaking,asshovelswereliftedbytheBoardofTrustees, lead donors, and School leadership each person representing the community who made this vision possible Thissignalstheofficialstartoftheconstructionandapowerfulsenseofforwardmomentumon whatwillbethecrownjeweloftheUpperCampus.

Asthishistoriceventcametoaclose,therewasasharedsensethatsomethingmeaningfulhadbeensetin motion notjustthestartofconstructionbuttheaffirmationofSierraCanyonSchool's commitmenttothearts.

ThisgroundbreakingeventfollowedmonthsofquietfundraisingthroughtheCenterfortheArtsCapital Campaign,withleadershipgiftsfromfamilieswhobelievedeeplyintheSchool'smission.Withadditional opportunitiesfornamingspacesandsupportingthecampaign,theexcitementcontinuestobuildasthe communityunitesinitssharedcommitmenttothistransformativevision.
