Be a swim-fit mama! This class introduces swimming technique, form and effective workouts in a positive and supportive environment designed specifically for women. Taught by an ASCA rated USA Swimming certified competitive swim coach and mom. Fins recommended. One time material fee of $5 for Swim Like A Mother latex cap. Drop-in fee: $10. Want to become a
Master’s of San Clemente Aquatics is a competitive-based training program that varies from practice to practice. Instruction on all strokes, turns, and starts are implemented through interesting and challenging sets. Training is based on skill level, age, and degree of cardiovascular development. Course available by membership only. Dropin fee is $5. No class on December 19-January 1, January 18, and February 15. NOTE: Master's 12:00pm-1:00pm will resume March 2016. This course is designed to train lifeguard candidates in the skills and knowledge needed to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. Course includes certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard First Aid and Oxygen Administration. Prerequisites: Must be minimum 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course. Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously using a combination of the front crawl (freestyle) and breast strokes. Swim 20 yards, surface dive to 9 feet, retrieve a 10 lb. object, swim 20 yards with object and exit pool without assistance. Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only. This Instructor level course is designed to train Instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program, including all Learn-To-Swim levels. Prerequisites: Must be minimum 16 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course. Demonstrate proficiency in the basic swim strokes used in the LearnTo-Swim program. Must complete the requisite pre-course Instructor registration process with the American Red Cross Learning Center before starting date of course. An e-mail will be sent to Instructor Candidates with instructions upon enrollment. Material Fee of $55 due on the first session of the course, payable to instructor. Lifeguard Instructor Course 17 years-Adult
This Instructor level course is designed to train Instructor candidates to teach courses in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid for Lifeguards, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogens Training/ Preventing Disease Transmission and Basic Water Rescue, as well as how to conduct Water Safety presentations. Prerequisites: Must complete the requisite pre-course online training component through the Red Cross Learning Center before starting date of course. An email will be sent to Instructor Candidates with instructions upon enrollment. Must be minimum 17 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
