Fall Edition 2009

Unity of Gainesville’s Annual 24 Hour Prayer Vigil September 10th, 2009

World Day of Prayer 7

Rev. Sydney Magill-Lindquist

Dear Unity Family, Summer is over and the children are back in school. We have had one of the busiest and most successful summers since we moved into our building, almost 7 years ago. Seven, in the Bible, refers to wholeness and completion, seven days of creation, seven days of the week etc. With the successes of our Summer Camp of the Spirit, Freddie Weber, Dr. Rocco Errico and our upcoming World Day of Prayer, it is as if we have completed a cycle that began with our move into our new church home so many years ago.. What’s next for us? As you look at all the activities we have this fall we can feel a new energy surging through our church family. New people are arriving every day filled with new ideas to add to our community. To welcome new people we have a need for Greeters. A group of people who are welcoming, open to making new friends and who are willing to be the first faces to greet new people who are in search of a loving, open, spiritual community. If you are interested please contact me through the church office. We affirmed this year that Now is our Time in 2009. With the number of new families blessing us a new cycle begins in 2010. Through it all...God is in charge!

Blessings...

Love Offering

SEPTEMBER 10TH 24 Hours of Prayer, starting at 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM.

A Course In Miracles Study Group Sundays at 6:00 PM 9/13, 10/11, 11/8 (in the Foyer)

A Course In Miracles is a book about how to heal our minds, for this is where the source of all our physical and psychological suffering lies. The aim of the Course is for us to achieve a state of inner peace, a quiet joy, no matter what we are doing, who we are with, or where we may be. It does this by teaching us a new way of looking at the world. This change of perception is the miracle - hence the title of the book

SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2009 September - October - November 2006

New Wednesday Night Class Based on Excuses Be Gone! Wednesdays beginning October 14th at 7:00 PM Within the pages of this transformational book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer reveals how to change the selfdefeating thinking patterns that have prevented you from living at the highest levels of success, happiness, and health. Even though you may know what to think, actually changing those thinking habits that have been with you since childhood might be somewhat challenging. If I changed, it would create family dramas . . . I’m too old or too young . . . I’m far too busy and tired . . . I can’t afford the things I truly want . . . It would be very difficult for me to do things differently . . . and I’ve always been this way . . . may all seem to be true, but they’re in fact just excuses. So the business of modifying habituated thinking patterns really comes down to tossing out the same tired old excuses and examining your beliefs in a new and truthful light. In this groundbreaking work, Wayne presents a compendium of conscious and subconscious crutches employed by virtually everyone, along with ways to cast them aside once and for all. You’ll learn to apply specific questions to any excuse, and then proceed through the steps of a new paradigm. The old, habituated ways of thinking will melt away as you experience the absurdity of hanging on to them. Love Offering

Church Family Trip

North Georgia Guide Stones Saturday, October 17th Leave from church at 10:00 AM Georgia Guidestones is Elberton's most unusual granite monument, poses a mystery for the numerous visitors who visit the site seven miles north of Elberton on Georgia Highway 77. Also known as America’s Stonehenge, this 19-foot high monument displays a 10-part message espousing the conservation of mankind and future generations in 12 languages. The Guidestones are mysterious in origin, for no one knows the identity of a group of sponsors who provided its specifications.

We invite you to Join our Church Family. If you are considering joining Unity of Gainesville, now is the time.
