School Council Elections
• The re-election of Council members will take place during the first half term.
• Dates for meetings have been put on the school calendar throughout the year (please refer to the page for Dates of Meetings in this information booklet).
• On the next few pages are the arrangements for the Year Council and Whole School Council and key dates for Elections.

Year Council Whole School Council
Each Form elects
one Year Council
Representative
Each student elects two
Whole School Council Representatives
Year Council meet regularly to discuss issues raised by students
Whole School Councillors also attend
Whole School Council meet regularly to discuss issues raised by students at Year Council meetings
KEY DATES WHOLE SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS
WEEK COMMENCING 15th SEPTEMBER
- Assemblies to launch the Year and Whole School Council Elections
FRIDAY 26th SEPTEMBER
- Submit a short paragraph to your Form Tutor outlining what qualities you could bring to the School Council
- Your Form Tutor will pass your application on to your Head of
Year who will short list 4 boys and 4 girls
WEEK COMMENCING 29th SEPTEMBER
- Voting to take place for Whole School Councillors
- 4 boys’ statements and 4 girls’ statements will be anonymous and shared with Forms to vote
WEEK COMMENCING 6TH OCTOBER
- Results announced in Assembly
KEY DATES YEAR COUNCIL ELECTIONS
WEEK COMMENCING 15TH SEPTEMBER
- Assemblies to launch the Year and Whole School Council Elections
WEEK COMMENCING 22nd SEPTEMBER
- Prepare a brief presentation to share with your Form
- Students vote for the person they wish to represent them on the Year Council
- Form Tutors to share elected names with Heads of Year
WEEK COMMENCING 6TH OCTOBER
- Results announced in Assembly

Group discussions, Year Council meetings and Whole School Council meetings 2025-2026
•Below is the schedule for the Form Group discussions which lead into Year Council meetings and then Whole School Council meetings.
•Form Group discussions and Year Council meetings can take place at the discretion of the Form Tutor and Directors of Learning within the weeks outlined below.
•Mrs Paul will confirm the dates for the Whole School Council meetings.
•Those pupils who have been elected by their Form Group will attend their Year Council meeting.
•Those pupils who have been elected by their Year Group will attend both Year Council and Whole School Council meetings.
