Essex Outdoors Danbury


First, the children will be able to enjoy 3 whole days of activities and will be camping for 2 nights.
Secondly, the journey from St. Ursula’s Catholic Primary School to the Essex Outdoors Danbury will only take between 30 to 45 minutes.
• We leave on Monday 16th June 2025 at 8:30
• Meet on the front playground for registration at 8:00
• The journey to Danbury will take between 30 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic.
• Met by Essex Outdoors Danbury staff and shown around: fire point, code of conduct etc.
• The first activity starts at 9:30 and the children will continue all through the day till 19:30.
Medicine (spare asthma pump, epi-pen, travel sickness medication, hay fever medication etc…) needs to be brought into school the week before the trip – W/C9/06/25.
2 asthma pumps and 2 epi-pens must be brought on the trip. The first to be kept with the child at all times the second handed to teacher with any other medicines.
Any travel sickness pills should be administered by parents before departure and tablets for the return journey are to be given to the school a week before the trip.
Children's names should be clearly marked on all medication. Liquid medicines should have a spoon included with them.
All medication must in its original packaging and the school will follow the guidance on the packaging unless there is evidence of a doctor prescribing it differently.
Archery, climbing, High ropes, off road biking, pioneering, canoeing, bouldering, obstacle course, BMX biking and a range of other sporting activities.
All activities are fully supervised on site.
Danbury staff who operate on the lake our qualified life guards and teachers inform them of individual abilities.
Asthma pumps must be kept with children at all times and a spare is kept with group leaders.
16th June – Lunch and dinner.
17th June- Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
18th June – Breakfast and lunch.
As the children will be camping they will need to pack the following:
•A rucksack/overnight bag
•Around 4/5 outfits change of clothes and 3 footwear (3 outfits to get dirty, 1 to relax in and pyjamas. 2 trainers to get dirty and 1 to relax in)
•Sleeping bags and a pillow
•A sun cap
•A thin waterproof
•Sun cream (Should have your child’s name on)
•Toiletries: tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, towel (x2) hairband, brushes etc… sandals
•Appropriate hair styles- children will be wearing protective helmets.
The children’s clothes will get wet, dirty and possibly ripped. We strongly suggest you wear old clothes and not brand new clothes.
Shorts need to be knee length and no vest tops.
Children must not bring valuable items e.g. handheld game consoles/digital cameras
No personal MP3 players are permitted.
No mobile phones allowed.
No chewing gum.
No smart watches or jewellery of any kind
No vest tops
Children will be supervised at all times by a number of staff.
Essex Outdoors
Danbury’s staff are ultimately in charge of activities as they are fully qualified and will expect the highest levels of manners and behaviour at all times.
Danbury’s is fully bonded with ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) and all instructors are fully trained and qualified.
Be punctual when attending activities.
Behave with consideration and manners to others at all times.
All school rules still apply.
You must listen and concentrate when instructors are instructing you on the details of that specific activity. It is a health and safety requirement.
You must arrive wearing the correct clothing for the activity.
Asthma pumps to be kept with you at all times and children should attempt every activity unless there is a medical reason.
Wait to be seated by a member of staff. Use your manners and talk to the children on your table.
You must clear up after yourself and throw any rubbish straight into the appropriate bins.
Failure to follow guidelines may result in a phone call home to parents to collect their
child from Danbury.
The children return at 5:30pm on Wednesday 18th June
Please be ready to collect your children straight from the coach at St. Ursula’s Catholic Primary School. Children will need to be collected promptly.
