★ Pupils will take a ‘STAR Reader’ quiz at the beginning of the academic year to obtain a baseline reading age and ZPD (zone of proximal development).
★ The pupils will use these scores to select suitable reading books from the amazing range in our library.
★ Once the book has been read, the pupils then take the ‘Accelerated Reading’ quiz based on the book, which will then be added to the pupil’s reading profile.

‘Take Your Child to Work’ Days
Bath University Campus Tour & Student Q&As
Year 8 brings many opportunities to engage with local employers and for pupils to start considering their options as they embark on the next step of their journey…
During Activities Week, year 8 pupils are offered the opportunity to attend a day of work with their parent, a relative or close family friend as part of the ‘Take your child to work‘ scheme.
This gave pupils a valuable opportunity to experience the world of work and the day-to-day routines and responsibilities of a wide variety of careers.
