I would like to thank the PE Department for yesterday’s Inter-House Competition. It was a really successful day and an absolute pleasure to be a part of. It was fantastic to see our pupils fulfilling the ethos of the games through teamwork, respect and sportsmanship, competing fiercely but in the right way. A big thank you also to staff that supported on the side-lines, your help was greatly appreciated.

This week at Oakfield we have celebrated Pi Day and Neurodiversity week. Each year group had different activities relating to Pi and its uses including themed lessons with puzzles and activities to complete. In some groups, pupils had competitions as to who could recite the most digits of Pi; congratulations to Gideon Timms in Year 8 who managed 34 just by the end of the day!

Neurodiversity week was covered through a session designed by Mrs Ingram, Mr Shaddick and Mrs Pinches. Pupils learnt about different Neurodiverse conditions and have started to create posters to raise awareness and celebrate those with differently wired brains!

Basketball Coaching Oakfield pupils have been welcoming Adam from Trowbridge Hawks into their lessons this term.

Adam has been sharing his knowledge of the game with pupils, working to improve their dribbling, shooting and overall understanding of the game. Pupils would like to thank Adam for his support in lessons, they have really enjoyed the sessions so far.

Huge congratulations and thanks to Lillian Tucker in 6S who raised an incredible £110 in the World Book Day sponsored read. This is an amazing achievement and every penny will go back into improving the library experience for all pupils!

We realise that an incomplete message was emailed to parents on the snow closure day by mistake.

A big welcome to Mrs Alison Dredge who joins us shortly as a Pastoral Support Mentor.

As part of Frome Town Council and Sustrans BIG WALK AND WHEEL event, we are delighted to welcome DOCTOR BIKE to the academy on Tuesday 21st March.

If you would like your child’s bike checked over by a mechanic, free of charge, please ensure the bike is delivered to our Bike Sheds at 8.30am. Bikes can be collected at 3.00pm. Other events organised can be viewed on the Frome Town Council website.
