Theme: The Great Outdoors

Instructions:

• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.

• Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school.

• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.

• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.

• We expect you to complete each homework to the best of your ability.

Measuring

What can you measure around your house?

What is the biggest thing you have measured?

What is the smallest thing you have measured?

UK Explorer

Have a look at a map of the UK. Which places have you visited in the UK? Do you have any photos from your time there? Mark the places you have been to on your map.

Build a den out of sticks

Can you build a den out of sticks, it can be big for yourself or small for a toy. Just like Winnie the pooh did for Eeyore.

Claude Monet

Draw or paint a picture of your back garden.

Camping trip

What would you take with you in your bag for a camping trip? Draw your bag and the items you would want with you.

Button Multiplication

Build an array using chocolate buttons! (other items such as, toys, grapes or anything else you have enough of are ok) Begin to make arrays by making equal groups and building them up in columns or rows.

Summer Walk

What plants are trees can you see on your walk? When you get home draw a picture of your favourite plant or tree and tell me all about it.

Multiplication

Try and learn you 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Can you write them out? Can you say them?

An adult can record you saying them and send it on Seesaw.

Brushing Teeth

Write out instructions for brushing your teeth.

Phonics Check

In your best handwriting write as many words as you can think of for the sounds i_e (kite), a_e (bake), u_e (huge) and aw (draw)

What do we have in our town? What shops are there? What buildings are there? What landmarks are there? What is special to Leyland? Make a list or draw pictures of what we have in Leyland.

Children’s choice

Have your own homework idea linked to our topic or what we have been learning about. Extra points for creativity.

Maths Activities

• Learn to tell the time.

• Learn direction. Left, right, forwards and backwards.

• Look at numbers to 50. Parent say a number for your child to write down.

English Activities

• Practise handwriting.

• Write stories.

• Read non-fiction books and learn/write facts.

• Read poems and write your own.

• Read and spell the words for year 1.
