4th July 2025

Dear Parent Carers,

Weekly Update: 04/07/25

I hope this update finds you well. This week, students have taken part in transition activities ahead of next year – we were joined by our new Year 7 students, and our current students spent three days with next year’s class and pastoral team to get them ready for this change. Classes took part in group activities and lessons to get to know each other better and experience what it’s like to be in a different year group. It's been brilliant to see the kindness our current students have shown to welcome our newest members of our community. Through these transition activities, we hope that students and families feel more confident about their next steps. Our Family Support team is always available if you need any extra support or resources to further prepare.

Sports Day and Summer Fayre

Letters were sent home this week regarding our upcoming Sports Day on Wednesday 16th July from 11:15am-12:30pm, and Summer Fayre on Friday 18th July from 1:00pm-2:15pm. Parent Carers are able to attend one of these events, and we’d love to see you there! We appreciate your understanding in how we manage the numbers of visitors to exciting events while our busy school continues to operate safely.

End of Year Progress Reports and Parent Carer Evening

Students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 have been given copies of their End of Year Reports ahead of Parent Carer Evening next week This takes place on Tuesday 8th July for most classes, and on Wednesday 9th July for KS3BV. Please get in touch with your child’s Pastoral Team if you have not received a copy of the report. We hope that you find this progress report a useful reflection of the past year. Recycled School Uniform will also be available at Tuesday’s Parent Carer Evening.

Shaw Education Trust – Parental Survey

The Shaw Education Trust are seeking the views of all Parent Carers. A survey link will be sent home to Parent Carers next week. This survey is different to previous surveys about school, and is the first of its kind to re-evaluate the position of the Trust and help shape its next chapter going forwards.

After School Clubs

The last After School Club of this academic year will take place on Thursday 17th July. We will write to you in September ahead of clubs starting again.
