Deep Learning Teaching to Mastery (For Maths Leads) Dr Yeap Bar, the internationally renowned expert in teaching for mastery, will be delivering a bespoke day of training on 25th March (Full details below).

The day will focus on what teaching for mastery looks like in 'real time' with a class of KS3 pupils. Ban Har will talk through a lesson which he will then teach to a group of pupils in front of a live audience.

This will be followed by an afternoon discussing the principles of teaching for mastery.

Rhona Thomson and Ian Rodmell from our MFL Curriculum team will present a 90 minute session looking at the main themes to have emerged from last summer’s assessments across A-level French, German and Spanish and looking at what lessons you can take forward as you prepare your students for summer 2020. An overview of the session is as follows: Looking back at the 2019 A level MFL exams and forward to 2020 • Outlining the central outcomes from the 2019 exams in French, German and Spanish • Sharing key messages in preparation for the 2020 assessments • Resources and support for AQA teachers There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and to network with other MFL teachers from across the region. Although the primary focus of the session is A-level, our presenters will also be happy to answer any GCSE related questions you may have.
