Year 8 Trip to Paris

PARIS TRIP 2023 DAY ONE Our adventure began at 2.30am on a cold, drizzly Wednesday morning. We travelled through the early hours of the morning to Dover for our ferry at 11.00am. After a smooth crossing, we continued our long journey down to our accommodation at the PGL centre of Chateau de Grande Romaine outside Paris. After room allocatation, a much needed evening meal (including birthday cake for Jessica) and a tour of the chateau, 90 sleepy heads hit their pillows with 11 staff not far behind.

DAY TWO

Croissants and pain au chocolat provided a first taste of a traditional French breakfast on Thursday morning. We then headed out to the pretty walled town of Brie -Compte- Robert to complete a town trail. The children were able to practise their French in the local shops and were delighted to discover that the boulangerie did indeed sell baguettes!

Thursday afternoon was our first visit to central Paris. We enjoyed a picnic in the sun on the grass outside the magnificent Sacre Coeur and then enjoyed sightseeing on the coach on the journey back to the chateau. Our evening activity was crepe making and the children were able to make their own crepes with their choice of toppings.

DAY THREE

Finally Friday had arrived and that meant only one thing …Disneyland Paris. It was difficult to decide if Mr Lawler or the children were more excited! We spent a fun filled day on roller coasters and rides, meeting Disney characters and buying souvenirs. A tired bunch headed back to the chateau and after our evening meal, enjoyed a sing-song and games around the campfire.
