Reminder: This Monday 23rd June
Wear your PE kit to school – all children. A small treat on the field that children will access with their classes during the day!
Please do not allow your child to access it during drop-off. Risk assessment, health & safety, behavioural, insurance reasons – you’ll get it when you see it!
Food Waste
Is now collected separately. There must be nothing other than food scraped into the food waste bin. Children having packed lunch from home should be bringing home their rubbish so you can see what they’ve eaten. Please reinforce this with your child.
Pomfret Motors: Donation
Thank you to Pomfret Motors for their donation to the school which has been used to refresh our library with some gorgeous, new additions – wonderful.

Sid the Cygnet’s 5th Birthday
Our annual sponsored walk to raise funds for the school; to celebrate Sid’s Birthday (I know; he looks great for 5!) and this year, support geographical skills will take place on the 4th July. Details to follow next week. Look out for the sponsorship form and look out for our route around the village (released to parents only – pupils solve FOES’ clues!) so you can wave us on from the side-lines & the rooftops!
Reminder: Hot, Hot, Hot…Slip, Slap, Slop
Hot Days
As always, on hot days, feel free to send your child in, in their PE kit if it is supportive.
Sun Cream
Sun cream can be applied at home and/or pupils can bring it in, so long as they can apply it themselves and do not share with others (mindful of allergies, reactions to unfamiliar brands/types, for example).
Caps, Glasses etc
All perfectly fine provided we are wearing it for protection; not in lessons and not sharing/playing with our accessories – throwing our hats around the field, for example. Please reinforce.
Water Bottles
Are a must. We now have a bottle filler in the KS2 corridor which children have enjoyed accessing. Take the Shade
When the children hear me cry, they know what to do/where they can go. These mini shade breaks give us a chance, part-way through lunchtime, to feel our body signals & regulate accordingly –actioned multiple times in very hot weather.

Antony Highlights:
The children in Antony class have enjoyed learning about two Greek myths this week. They have explored the stories of Prometheus and King Midas. They made torches with flames and acted out how Prometheus stole fire from Zeus to give to humans. Later in the week, they were inspired to build a stage to retell the story of King Midas and invited others to watch their performance. Children in Year 1 continued to use the conjunction 'and' when joining two sentences about these stories.

Wenzel Highlights:
Wednesday was certainly the highlight for Wenzel Class as it was our turn to swim! It was wonderful to hear Mrs Deili talking so positively about all the children's readiness to listen, learn and help each other. It was clear from their smiles when they returned to class that they'd had great fun in the pool. This week, I have also been impressed by the children's communication in maths. Year 1 and Year 2 came together for a lesson on position and direction and they were able to give and follow clear verbal instructions.
Larwood Highlights:
We have really enjoyed learning about the life, work and spiritual journey of Dr Jane Goodall - the activist and primatologist. Her incredible journey was extremely inspiring. We have also loved following, making and sharing photo trails in PE this week, and it was particularly fun seeing parts of the school from different angles!
