Churchtown School Values

Growth Growth comes from facing challenges with resilience, knowing that it's okay to find things difficult — because with purpose, determination, and something to strive for, we learn, improve, and become stronger.

Day Class

Reading & Homework
One of our key priorities is developing reading.
We strongly believe reading underpins our children’s successes across the curriculum.
Requirement of all children to read at least three times per week. Each child will be issued with a reading record for parents to record their child’s reading each week. This will be checked in school.
Homework is set half termly – at the end of each half term, we will have a celebration of the work the children have completed.
Weekly spellings will be sent home in reading diaries.
TT Rockstars to practise times tables.

(Special Educational needs and disabilities)
If you have any concerns about your child’s progress or well-being, the first point of call will always be to talk to the class teacher.
From this point, it may be that further provision is required, which the class teacher will organise and implement.
After this period of time, if there are still concerns, the SEND team (Mrs Tudor and Mrs Sutton) are always there to support and offer guidance for the children.

At Churchtown, we use the app SeeSaw to offer a window into the classroom. Staff in school use SeeSaw to journal the children’s learning and parents have the opportunity to access their child’s individual portfolio.
Your child will have already been transferred into their new class, so you will already be able to view their learning journey so far! Please remember the Code of Conduct which you signed when allowing access to SeeSaw last academic year, regarding the use of these images. If you wish to see this again, please ask at the school office.

Are you signed up to Arbor? Please contact the office ASAP if you are not connected!

Arbor is used for the following… Important messages/updates from school.
Distribution of school related letters Reporting an absence. Booking wraparound care. Paying for school lunches.
